Face Off Season 3

The thing with Roys was that it wasn't even a cyborg. It was a zombie with an Iron jaw and a backpack on.

Derek's character actually reminded me of one of the Reanimen from the invincible comic book.

I immediately thought of a Combine Elite soldier from HalfLife 2. He even had the side "ear" domes.

i saw it coming when i saw the final result. roy didnt really "evolve" much during the season, his work was allways impressive, and he allways had a high level, but it didnt seem to improve (im not sure if i am explaining my feelings here correctly :D)
i wouldve made the same ranking in the judges position today

Nicole's put in a real effort since being given a second chance, but her lack of experience is always evident in her final pieces. There's always an amateurish aspect to them. Last night's werewolf was a break from the creativity she's been showcasing too - it looked like a $60 costume from target with a cheap rubber wolf mask. If you're going to build a creature of that style for this show, the face needs to be articulated in some way to allow a performance to come through. This wolf couldn't snarl, couldn't bite, couldn't move its brow. I can't believe there wasn't a single comment from the judges regarding the face!

Yeah, Roy's red wig was unfortunate, but his sculpt was terrific. He demonstrated knowledge and experience with different materials, using both foam latex and silicone to produce his final makeup, and his actress would have been able to perform in that getup.

They had the right two on the bottom, but definitely sent the wrong person home in my opinion.

And this is why I didn't like the idea of an eliminated contestant returning. Nicole only had to compete in 8 episodes while Roy competed in 10. She was never in the top looks until she won two in a row during episode 8 and 9. Yeah, Roy only won one challenge but he was in the top looks 5 times.

so how does this matter? every week, the one person with the weakest end result was sent home. they couldve been top look the week before.

for all i know he couldve won every time, if he has the weakest result the 11th time, he will go home.

thats like saying: im a doctor, i did this operation right 100 times, so if i **** up this one time, all is good because of statistics.

I'm saying she didn't deserve to be in the finale and bringing back a previously eliminated contestant was a stupid rule. That's why it matters to me. And there has been an occasion or two in previous seasons where a contestant on the bottom stayed due to the overall quality of their previous work. And that is nothing like saying I'm a doctor, i did this operation right 100 times, so if i screw up this one time, all is good because of statistics. Not even close.

i agree that bringing her back was aproblem, but appart from that i think its wrong to judge on previous work, rather than the work thats actually being critiqued

of course this is a TV show ..one that is "cast" ...one that needs ratings for ad revenue. I find the whole "Live" finale and vote for the winner the most insulting... especially when season 4 is already wrapped. There was a bit more purity in season one. the obvious tailoring of the show now is extremely evident

Agreed. I was shocked to see Roy go and Nicole stay based on that amateur werewolf job she created.

What scares me is wondering if nutty Joe was on to something..

That they already picked who would win from the beginning. That doesn't seem likely as if she had performed really poorly that she'd have to be voted out eventually.

What a crock of ****. Roy demonstrated hand over fist his skills in different types of mediums. The man knew his stuff and to be sent home over something as trivial as a bad wig.

I was thinking Roy was going to be the winner from Day one I just dont get it The wolf was so bad ???

All I can say is the Blond was HOTT. lol And her work always so good. What was her name Laura?

cant believe roy was eliminated. But I do admit as stated somewhere else here. He came in very talented but, his work never evolved. He should of not put so much effort into some early stuff so it look like he developed and gained skills during the show.

Yes, this is what I was referring to.

I agree had she performed consistently bad she would have been voted out. With this so-called "reality t.v." we never really know. These programs are as scriped as the finest fiction.

After the season one finale, I had a strong feeling that this show was rigged. This week's judges pointed out that Nicole had badly applied makeup and the chestpiece was malformed, but Roy's wig was bad? They ignored her extremely cliche wolf's ears glued onto hair, but didn't like the placement of his fangs? Poorly applied and unexciting make-up wins over an incredible paintjob on a unique looking sculpt.

I still never heard an explanation how an eliminated candidate came back, having missed X number of challenges and was readmitted to disoplace someone who had been with it all along?

Sorry, but fixed.
