If you've ever held the toy version, the one that shoots darts, it's about the same size. Not child sized.

Thanks for the answer! I think the toy is a bit oversized... and that was the reason I did not bout it. I like accurate stuff that is why I am gonna disassemble the hasbro black series kylo saber (because it is big and thick as hell) and put it in a CNC machined size accurate handle. Do not misunderstand me your work is stunning, but maybe is not for me... still waiting for price and then I will decide.
Compare the cartoon to the toy version:

I am pretty sure that the one you are comparing is the Rubies costuming lightsaber and not the Hasbro toy. You can tell by the screw holes.

You are correct (that's my hand in that picture, haha). I don't have a Hasbro version to compare so I don't know how good its sizing is, but the grip diameter of that 3d printed one looks great.

The one in that picture is NOT the one I was talking about. That Rubies is oddly shaped, disproportionate and slightly oversized than the dart shooting toy version I'm working from. From my research the dart firing version is more than likely based on the original 3D models from the show, NOT the Rubies version. I'll see if I can post some comparison pics later.

Rubies looks terrible.. the 3D printed one a few posts up looks great.
Im still in for this, but I have a question...
are we now referring to this as Ezra's Season 1 and 2 lightsaber... because it will NOT be the hilt he has in season 3.

I never stopped to think about that. What with the season finale being so fast paced and emotional. I hope they keep the idea of the blaster/saber concept and just improve on that. Who knows, maybe luuke will start getting requests for a new lightsaber build pretty soon after season 3 commences.

It was awesome!
AS far as series, I still think the Clone Wars series (in its entirety) was fantastic.
Its taken a bit for Rebels to grow on me... Season two definitely pulled me in more, and the finale was just awesome.. friggin awesome..
Come on man, lets make this hilt.. I can give you a list of hilts to make!
