Was just jumping in to ask the same thing...
but I'd like to add something here.. I am very familiar with machine shops, runs..
if this "shop" still hasn't gotten back to you, if they still haven't produced a piece yet, if there is still communication you need to have with them to get this going.. I'd suggest looking for a new shop.
Seriously, it's not a good sign if these delays already have been caused by them.

Update 4/26:
Ugh! So I finally got the shop on the phone again. I'll be calling them back on Thursday for a FINAL pricing option. So it won't be but a couple more days. Hopefully you all are still interested.

Ok, so I just talked to the shop. I hate negotiating. Honestly, it's draining. I'm still not happy with the pricing. He's gonna call me back in a couple of hours. The thing is, there are 15 parts. They price those out individually to get a per unit cost.I get that. The the price for each complete unit looks sky high. When I look at the amount for only 60 complete units, it's just way disproportionate. Hopefully he'll understand that and come to a more reasonable price per unit. Also to help bring the costs down we might have to wait a little bit longer. 8-10 weeks he said, and I'm totally down with that if it brings the overall costs down. Again, hopefully one I announce pricing everyone will be on board cause I'll be on the hook for 60 of these units. If not, it could be $1000's out of my own pocket. Either way, these are going to be friggin badass! He'll be calling me back in a couple of hours with final pricing.

I am guessing the end cost is going to be more than the original around $500.
When you think about it, individual CNC saber is usually a few hundred (uncomplicated 2-3 parts turned on a lathe, no milling, with a few holes drilled and tapped $100-250 depending on complexity)
Paint/weathering and assembly you are talking $200-350 with no electronics depending on the desired look and complexity of the assembly
So setting at the original 500 was a dream price honestly
If you can keep it within reason I don't see why there won't still be interest, and a longer lead time gives people more time to secure funds.

I got the final quote from the shop. It's not where I'd idealy want it to be but it's very doable. I'm going to crunch the numbers with the other expenses involved and I'll have a final price for everyone tomorrow. If we can get everyone on board this will be a killer project.
