Definitely a great saber project to tackle! Most everybody else is doing the more common sabers. I applaude you! I arrived here from about three other forums.:lol Can you put me on the list? If I let this opportunity pass, I'll be kicking myself later.

Updated 3/6:
List has been updated. The 3D model is almost finished. I'll post up some pics of that soon.
I got a written quote from the shop. Not happy with it. I've got some negotiating to do. I'm calling them on Monday to haggle.

It's always hard to negotiate when it come to truly skilled trades and quality designs. Good luck, hopefully they built in some wiggle room.

The 3D models are being worked on as we speak. We can get a better price if we submit files in 3D which will help with setup costs and so fourth. So far it looks like we'll be getting the prototype started in the couple of week and will take a couple of weeks after that. Once we have it in hand we'll see if any adjustments need to be made. This is a huge project with A LOT of parts. We need to make sure everything is exactly where we want it. When it's all good then we'll start collecting funds. I got a great line that I use for negotiating. You are welcome to use it if you wish.

It goes a little something like this...

"Oh, come-on."

:lol Hopefully this line works with the machine shop guy also. If it does. Then we can get a good deal!
