Motivated by what everyone here has done... I wanted to try this myself. I have been gone for a while from uploading suits. Only because i have been doing some of the same things. JLU characters... actually More or less DC characters. I decided to try something marvel with all their up and coming movies. I also Want to make an iron man suit but wanted to try this one first. My past attempts were not at all what i wanted but I think i got it this time. I am using EVA foam that was 1/4 inch. It is actually treadmill floor pad from a sports store. let me know what you think. I have only done 1 body part a day. not much but this is what i have.

Re: EVA War Machine Build

That is freaking AWESOME! You look perfect for the part, and maybe even be perfect for a Lt. Col. James Rhodes. Hope you dont take offense to this!

Keep up the amazing work!

Re: EVA War Machine Build

Looks very good! The floor mats are the best kind of EVA foam to get a hold of and do this. Wish your photos where a bit lighter so we can see all the detail. Think about a day time out side photo for more light to see the contrast of black foam on black foam. Keep up the good work!

Re: EVA War Machine Build

Very nice start on your project, it looks very promissing. Keep up the good work.

Re: EVA War Machine Build

Isusuperman nice work bra. I'll have ta keep my eye on this build thread !!! Ya know pictures of th' how ya did th' templates in order ta make th' cuts would be great I find inspiration in th' creation process keep it up.

Re: EVA War Machine Build

looks sweet. If its the foam I'm thinking of isn't it kinda flimsy? how'd you keep it stiff? or did you just leave as is? or am I thinking of something else? lol can't wait to see the rest of the suit

Re: EVA War Machine Build

I will for sure get better pics. thanks for the kind words. This is still a first try with the foam and after a couple trys at thinner foam and pep... Thanks I have looked into LT. Rhodes and have a few friends in the air force that I want to get me an actual suit to portray him.

Also while doing the torso i will take pics to show it is quite the same as a pep project. And the Foam is fairly thick. It is the same as gym matting. it is 1/4 inch thick. I once tried to use thicker 4mm foamies and to me it was too thin. This is perfect and keeps shape very well. I also dont want to buy flex bond. I have done some research on line and plan to use elmers glue and water 1-1 ratio. I have done some testing and it seals it perfectly just takes longer to get done. not to mention cheaper, and I get more in quantity.

Re: EVA War Machine Build

Isusuperman. I read under the pics that this was built from JUICE's pep files but modified. I'm assuming you removed the glue tabs and joined smaller pieces to make bigger pieces right?

Just trying to get an idea, plus would avoid anyone asking the same question.

I've see a lot of your costumes before. You love your Superheroes :)

Keep it up man. I'm totally following this till the end

Re: EVA War Machine Build

They are the same files from your earlier build. I have guessed the scale due to your previous posts. I did remove the glue tabs and re joined some parts while leaving some out. Makes it easier to use bigger parts also when putting it together.

and yeah im usually a DC guy. But really want to try something new other than making those types of suits.

Re: EVA War Machine Build

That's some good looking armor, 'supes! Can't wait to see the rest.
I love the material. Its the same stuff I used for my Spud Trooper.

Re: EVA War Machine Build

The foam builds are great. Looks good dude. Gotta love how much less time this takes and how great detail you can get with the foam method. Works great for prismatic shapes, for organic shapes its more limited..or it could be done by taking more time. Also, I think its lower costing and safer to use than Fib gls..SWEET..papaz

So for now I have the torso finished. It is probably the hardest part to figure. Connecting the front to back was pretty hard. but this is how I am doing it. So Far i have taken the Juice Pep files and reconnected some of the parts and got rid of the tabs

After tracing them onto the mat I would place them as if they were a puzzle then glue the parts as such.

Next its down hill from here. I have the shoulders and arms. hopefully the helmet wont be too bad.

Re: EVA War Machine Build, Torso complete

i want to put a neck seal should i just use the Mark 4 one.. or would that throw this off?

Re: EVA War Machine Build, torso complete

Looking killer Robin.

Don't forget to make thigh extensions... and yes I know I didn't get those files to you last night but I promise to do that tonight. My bad.

Looks great though dude!

Re: EVA War Machine Build, torso complete

This looks awesome dude! great work!

As far as the neck is concerned, no one will notice except for you, and possibly someone else who has made the suit. Especially with War Machine, since he has so much armor on his shoulders blocking it.
