Slowly but surely, I have to say I'm popping bits off in adjusting the armature so have managed to get each joint just posable with some pressure so there's no need to lock it tight and over handle it.

Lee, I managed to rebuild the C600 donor you gave me, worked a treat....nice one

Welcome bud, glad it worked out! Looking very nice now Guy, building mine seems forever ago now, forgot most of the journey TBH, which sucks lol.

Old habits die hard...... I'm already becoming a night owl again trying to get this put together, I'm going to get into trouble soon!!!!!!

For some reason I've been putting this thigh section off & off & off, so finally pulled my finger out. Its not perfect but looks pretty nice. Got some U strip to re do as I made a mess of it (as usual), getting there now though.

The pursuit of total accuracy and beating myself up over parts are going to be days of the past.

A little clean up here n there and its nearly as tasty as a KFC thigh :lol

It looks perfect to me. I like the attitude you and Lee are taking about accuracy lately. Trying for perfection and accuracy can stifle the fun of the hobby. Sometimes making it impossible to make progress - in my experience at least. "Just do it"

Yeh mate, I think having a baby has made a huge difference....even just starting back after a 3 month break I'm getting sucked in to a level that means I'll go insane or get kicked out. Its great and it really is great to get this stuff as close as posable but not at the cost of any emotions is the trick.

If it can be done to the level that required by the builder then thats enough, I'm never going to be as on it as Julien and Lee and others but like Lee I think we've got (had) some priorities mixed up. This is only personal to me and I'm not speaking for Lee but this suits me at the moment being a bit more casual and am by no means preaching it, I'mean c'mon where would we be without Juliens builds.....and others of course. It would be a shame if no one strived for excellence.

A great paint job, which you always do, really means a lot. It's the part I enjoy most actually. True about the guys like Julien! Now if I could just build without the unknown things paralyzing me, darnit. Mental blocks.

Looking forward to that paint job!

I cant wait to get painting mate, I can have a good old practise on the beat up head so there's an added bonus for me there.

Had a burst of energy tonight so got some more done, I'm half way through the right thigh detail so should have the legs done asap aside from the feet. I need to get a 109 E to finnish the body off then its just a case of assembly and pose.

The head mount is now in place, the front guns will be on magnets so I can switch em between heads.

Cheers Lee, I love that in stride pose. Been through a dozen or so and this one just stands out...I guess its cos its familiar?

Small but very nearly there update. I cant begin to imagine how long this lot will stay in place or glued together but its quite solid at the moment. I need to work out most of the piping attachments and and a few odds n sodds then its paint tastic time.

You're a building machine. It's been fun watching.

Any thoughts on how you might do the interior thigh area, if you are doing them? That's the part that I'm on an intergalactic search for but come up empty so far. Life's too short - going to have to scratch that area when I get to it.

I'm still undecided Scott, if I do add it no doubt a scratched version will be the route I go. Just so glad to see the light at the end of the Tunnel now, so many tiny decisions on this build that al effect each other so its a real trial and error go of things......Thankfully its worked out quite nice :lol

Looking good Guy. Can't wait to see the paint job.

I'm in the middle of selling/buying my house, so no real progress is happening on mine. I have been thinking about things like glue. I know most people use cyo, I've been thinking about other alternatives. In fixing up my house for sale I bought some Gorilla Glue and it sure seems to stick and hold. Does anyone else have any thoughts on using Gorilla Glue for SS? Or any other alternatives to cyo? I'm going to do some testing after I get moved.

I've used gorilla glue for other things, like laminating wood together. And it really does hold like steel. It'd be interesting using it for model making. What surprised me about the stuff is how it expands as it sets. That always lead to wiping off surfaces and wiping up spills while it dried. That would need to be controlled. Do you notice that expansion?

I read about the expansion in the directions, but did not notice it when I used it. The main reason I bought it was to fix a loose garage door strut. It is now tight and solid. I did not notice expansion, but for that job it didn't really matter and I didn't pay close attention.

I also used it for the brass AT-ST chin guns when the cyo kept not holding or sticking before I could get them telescoped the way I wanted them. A small smear of the GG gave me plenty of time to line the tubes up the way I wanted and is holding tight. I was worried I might get some seeping but none came out...it really was a small smear of glue.

Like I said, after my move, I will be experimenting with some scrap plastic and aluminum. I would still like to hear opinions about other adhesives to stick the kit parts to the aluminum armature.

If you want Guy I'll take it to my own thread.

I wish Al

Still waiting on some silicone tubing that I've ordered, slightly larger diameter than the stock I have from any F1 kits, when this arrives I'll wrap up the build then the paint begins. I still need to make the lower plate for the damaged head, no need for anything super clean for that though so a nice rushed job should suffice.

That damaged head is going to be great coming from you. A match made in painting heaven. How about adding more or different markings to it? Maybe the empire's symbol like Moe did?

Wow going through this thread and seeing what you did on this is just amazing. The details are just wow. Keep up the great work!

Your free to discuss what ever you want in my thread Scott S:love

Small update number blahhhhhh!

Th right side leg thigh detail is up and running now, there's so little ref on this and its bad compared to the left side that its a very approximate version. I like the fact you cant put too much energy into this thigh as ILM didn't :behave

Very nearly there now :love
