Those are some beefy tangs! Definitely not UC rat tails. Indy, could you explain a little bit about the construction of the swords? Looking at those pictures it looks like they will be full tang. How are the hillts and pummels going to be fitted together? And what are the cross guards and pummels made of? I'm just curious to know the insides of the sword when I get one. We're now in full force grinding and polishing a hundred blades:

Are they solid brass or a brass plated base metal? These are not mass-produced assembly-line pieces, but are hand-made. They do have a full tang with a traditional peened pommel:

Both pommel and hilt are brass.
Thanks for the updatesI talked to the factory again and they are indeed an alloy with brass plating and antique finish. The brass casting turned out to be too problematic and was much harder to get consistent results.
The good news is it looks like we will be doing all the scabbards in wood, not plastic. The plastic casting, like the brass, was just too difficult to get to work properly, so we went back to the wood. It'll take a bit more time than the plastic, but at least we'll finally get these done!
Ah, good point. I'll look into it and see if we can offer it separately as well. Cheers!
Looking great! Whats the latest thinking on timeframe with these, which month do we think they'll ship?

Not to derail the topic, but Nibenon reminds me -if Magnoli did a run of Faramir's sword I would be duty-bound to buy it
Perhaps you could tease us with another photo or two at least, something to keep us going?I don't want to give any estimates... but we're getting close. I'll post as soon as we have something definitive.
