Limited Run Eomer's Sword GUTHWINE replica: carbon steel, brass and leather MAGNOLI

Here is our prototype with new patina finish (disregard the battle-worn look of the leather... this is our tester piece that we've been beating around trying out different things):

It definitely looks less shiny and more realistically patinad than what one would expect from UC. I like it! Also, in regards to a previous comment of yours: I didn’t know UC ever made Guthwine?

very happy to finally see a prototype :)
good idea to ship sword and scabbard separatly... especially if finishing scabbard takes a other 12 months lol
I will not display my sword beside the scabbard so its important to have the sword fitting well in the scabbard.

No, other collectors including myself just hang the scabbard next to sword and doesn't matter if it fits or not. If it something you decide to do in the future, you'll have a few orders - heck I'd even just buy the cast metal parts and make my own scabbard.

then why having scabbard if it not fit inside ?

Ah, good point. I'll look into it and see if we can offer it separately as well. Cheers!

Excellent! Many collectors would appreciate it.

UC will be releasing theirs sometime late August according to the last update I have herd.

Surely this is not how the final piece will look?

Hopefully, the production version will be less crude.

Yes, this is the correct design... and the same sculpt we've been showing since I posted it in Oct 2018. There seems to have been some slight variation in the various swords made for production as the UC version seems to have a double line at the bottom of the main loop (making it look like an open smile) and a much bigger circle at the bottom.

In any case, since our pieces are all hand made, not mass-produced, there will be slight variations in the degree of detail, finish, patina, etc from one sword to the next. For example, some of the swirly finials may be more or less closed on some swords.

As the swords themselves are finished, could you show us some pics of one of the production versions, please?

We'll post updated photos as soon as the swords are ready to go (we'll be doing 100 at once, so it'll take a little time). If anyone wants their sword shipped immediately (without the scabbard) please e-mail us directly and we'll update your order accordingly. If we don't hear from you, we'll assume you want the sword and scabbard shipped together when the scabbards are ready.

We're also working on pricing out the scabbards separately, but won't have that info until the final scabbards are successfully finished.

Just sent a email asking for sword now and scabbard later If no extra charge for 2 shipment, as stated on this forum. Sounds good ?
