Emerald City ComiCon 2013 - Now with Pics!

Re: Emerald City ComiCon 2013 - Updates 12/16/12

Sounds like Carrie Fisher just got announced on our local news station via the event coordinator! Woo hoo!!!

Sweet! I'm looking forward to getting a chance to meet her.... if I can pull that off, all I need to do is meet Lynda Carter to have completed my childhood hero trifecta. ;)

Re: Emerald City ComiCon 2013 - Updates 01/04/13

Stargate fans, the pot just got sweetened!

Just announced today: The beautiful and talented Lexa Doig (AKA, Mrs. Michael Shanks).

Re: Emerald City ComiCon 2013 - Updates 01/07/13

Looks like Codex, AKA Felicia Day, will be in attendance again this year.

Re: Emerald City ComiCon 2013 - Updates 01/07/13

Just saw this posted on ECCC's Facebook page!

Direct from the smash hit film The Hunger Games and coming to Seattle is an amazing collection of genuine costumes that will be exhibited at Emerald City Comicon! This special display of Hollywood history will be on display all three days!

The exhibit encompasses original screen-worn costumes worn by Jennifer Lawrence as “Katniss," Josh Hutcherson as “Peeta,” Elizabeth Banks as “Effie,” Stanley Tucci as “Caesar,” Liam Hemsworth as “Gale,” Woody Harrelson as “Haymitch,” Lenny Kravtiz as “Cinna,” Donald Sutherland as “President Snow,” Wes Bentley as “Seneca,” and many, many more!

The costumes are all set to be auctioned off in October but will be making a few appearances around the country first to give the public a chance to preview the items. The exhibit winds up in New York City where they will end up in a live auction at New York Comic Con!

Hunger Games fans, here's your chance to get a close-up look at some of the costumes! :D

Re: Emerald City ComiCon 2013 - Updates 01/11/13

He couldn't make it to the con last year due to filming commitments, but Christopher Lloyd has signed on again for this year.

Re: Emerald City ComiCon 2013 - Updates 01/14/13

I've seen maybe one episode of Supernatural, I'll admit, so I don't really know who he is, but Misha Collins was just announced the other day and lots of folks seem excited. :)

Re: Emerald City ComiCon 2013 - Updates 01/14/13

Wow,that makes what,like 19 celebrity guests?!

I'm just as excited to see Cole & others' R2's around the convention center.

What booth in artist's alley do you guys have?

They haven't assigned booths yet, but as soon as I know I'll post the info. We also have a really exciting announcement of our own coming up very soon so keep an eye on this thread! :popcorn

Re: Emerald City ComiCon 2013 - Updates 01/16/13

Probably not a big surprise to those who've peeked at these threads over the years, but Wil Wheaton will be appearing at ECCC again, but down in the gaming area with Felicia and these other fine gaming-oriented guests:

Larry Elmore

The legendary fantasy artist whose work includes creating illustrations for video games, comics, magazines and fantasy books, including famous illustrations for Dungeons & Dragons, Dragonlance, and the comic strip series SnarfQuest. He is author of the book Reflections of Myth.

Quinton Flynn

Best known for his voice over work on some of the most popular video games around, including Raiden in the Metal Gear series, Reno in multiple installments of Final Fantasy, Axel in the Kingdom Hearts games, as well as voices Mass Effect 2 & 3, Guild Wars 2 and Crash Bandicoot. He is currently the voice of Silver the Hedgehog.

Jennifer Hale

Primarily known as the voice of the female Commander Shepard in the Mass Effect Trilogy, her video game voice work can be heard in Diablo 3, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Halo 4, Guild Wars 2 and Naomi Hunter from Metal Gear Solid. Her numerous other voice acting credits include Powerpuff Girls, Totally Spies!, The Avengers, Aayla Secura on Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Carol Ferris on Green Lantern: The Animated Series.

Paul & Storm

Paul and Storm have been writing and performing funny songs together for a long, long time, starting with their stint together in a cappella band Da Vinci’s Notebook. Their music tends to make people laugh and feel good, and Paul and Storm believe that this makes their pursuit noble, right and just. BONUS: their live show is better than 1,000 Fonzies, and more spellbinding than Mr. T on a unicycle. (And equally as confusing as both of those things)

Re: Emerald City ComiCon 2013 - Updates 01/16/13

Do you know when they start posting pricing for photo ops and autographs? It's hard to budget not knowing all this stuff. It's going to be an exciting show!

I wish they'd announce Mark Hamill. He's on my wish list of people I haven't gotten to meet yet.

My guess would be that pricing will probably go up on the website in the next couple weeks (don't quote me on it, I'm going rough timeframes I've noticed them being posted in the past, not any firm word from the con-runners). :)

Re: Emerald City ComiCon 2013 - Updates 01/16/13

I'm probably going, but I never go to those things to meet anyone except maybe an artist or two and that's it. Paying fifty bucks for a signature isn't my thing.
If I go, I'll either break out my BSG BDUs and gunbelt, or maybe wear my original NASA flight suit.
The place is uber packed each year and I'm not big on crowds anymore (a curious side effect of hitting middle age) so I usually only stay for a few hours and that's it, mostly hitting the dealer's area and seeing which artists are around...

Re: Emerald City ComiCon 2013 - Updates 01/21/13

Awesome-sauce! Ray Park was just announced as returning this year. Now i can get that signed pic of him as Snake-Eyes I wanted to get for my hubby back in '09, but didn't have time to finnagle! :)

Re: Emerald City ComiCon 2013 - Updates 01/21/13

...I may actually wind up going. My son dropped the bomb that he wanted to go to a con, (I haven't been in years), --- in costume. {!} :D

My family is trying to see if we can get the cash together to go. :)

Re: Emerald City ComiCon 2013 - Updates 01/21/13

We started saving up months ago. It seemed silly to save up so early at the time, but now I'm glad we did otherwise we wouldn't have had the cash. I don't think I'll be able to afford to go in any cool costume but I'll probably be Nathan Drake for 1 day.

That's fantastic. ECCC is a great first con for families. :)

I've been to Emerald City before, (2nd or 3rd year of the con), but never with my family. :) Glad it's friendly.

I'm middle age myself at this point, I guess, so it'll definitely be about my kids' enjoyment more than anything...but I'll definitely be checkin' out prop related stuff. :D

Now I've got to find reasonably priced bits & pieces for the costume my teenager wants to wear...Bane from TDKR. {shrug} ;)

NICE! You should bring him by our table. I'd love to get a picture with him. :)

Re: Emerald City ComiCon 2013 - Updates 01/21/13

Well, we'll stop by if we make it then, (it'll probably be our entire family of 6, so we'd be hard to miss). I'm sure he'll just eat up having someone take a picture with him in costume. His sisters will probably be jealous of the attention. :D

Your booth would be...?

Take care & it'll be nice to meet a third person on the RPF from the Seattle area, (met one other member a while back via a JY transaction)!

Still waiting on booth assignments to be released. I'm hoping it'll be very soon because it's getting down to the wire. :)
