The model used in the trailer is defenately different than the one used in the movie - not just the fact that the trailer model has all the sticks on the roof, but it looks like it's not as detailed and may be using the larger popsicle sticks, still not sure on that, but I am going to base my measurements off of the standard size sticks so I expect the front to be roughly 12" wide.
The size will work out in the sense that it will be easier to display it since it won't be so darn big.

I happened across this thread when making a model of this for a friends birthday gift. I'll stress that this was a quick job meant to be approx half size, so it's not an exact replica. Although the smaller size is easier to display and has a 'cuter' quality about it. And it was fairly easy to do off the cuff, so a proper replica should be no probs for a dab hand.

The Sticks on the roof obviously look wrong, but couldn't be cut and retain the original shape. Unlike the sticks used for the under window panels, which have a better size. It’s made from cardboard, papier mache, lollypop sticks, matchsticks, glue, and acrylic paint. The pillars are sawn off pencils. Cheap and cheerful. The base it sits on measures 22cm squared.

It was lots of fun to do.

Wow, very well done buddy.
I am impressed with the accuracy :cool
Keep it up!
Kind regards Jason. :)

I'm resurrecting this thread from the dead like Freddy!
I've put off making this replica for so many years, I finally had the urge to just go ahead and do it!
I spent alot of time hammering out my master patterns (so I can make more of them) but was surprised at just how much time it took to get everything constructed and accurate as possible.
I customized the back with a photo collage similar to how the house model looked in the Dokken music video - but I did not try to match it exactly, just thought it would look neat with something interesting on the back.
Anyway, here it is - I'm happy with how it turned out but will improve some of my details and fabrication techniques in future models.

This is beautiful, I have been working on one for about 3 years off and on and now I'm going to have to start over. My question is what did you use for the pillars on the front porch. I have considered cardboard tampon tubes but they are too short and have a staggered edge. That part has be stuck.

Hey Freddy fans,
What do you think of my Freddy house?fAVOURITES (2).jpgfAVORITE (2).jpg It took me nearly 30 hours. I am a huge, long-time fan of the films. I always wanted to make one. There are areas that could have been more accurate, but overall, I think it turned out better than I thought it would considering I am not much of a builder. Thanks for the comments.
