EFX PCR boba helmet

$380 is fair but $600 is steep for a PCR helmet.

380$ helmet
80$ shipping
87,40$ Mehrwertsteuer(19% on price and shipping)
------------------------
547,40$

That is the normal price when you import the helmet from the USA to germany. With a very cheap shipping.
But with the EFX shipping the price will be a lot higher...and when the price for the shipping is higher the "Mehrwertsteuer"will also get higher.
AND when you have any problem with the helmet its on your own risk. When I buy from a local seller here I can ship it back and all is good.
I pay 450 Euro for my helmet at my local seller. That are 502$.So I think thats a very good price.

Ive been approached by several people outside the US to sell some of my helmets but I really don't want too lol.
Why doesn't one person in the US bulk order from bait or EFX and ship them to those outside the US and send it "as a gift"? Would that be too much money to entrust into someone?

The guys at the customs are not stupid."Gift" or not...you always must pay the 19% Mehrwertsteuer. You must bring them the paypalbill. If you don´t have one they look in the internet and can see what its worth. So its an expensive thing to order from the states.I don´t know how its in other states in the EU..I can only speak for germany.

Can anyone do a side by side picture with other lids? Like a fph2/efx or any other helmets.

No because that is purely down to luck. I had something shipped to me last week from the US that was declared as $75 and I got hit with import fees and VAT. I had another parcel shipped which had a declared value of $575 on it and that got through customs without any charges whatsoever.

Does that include the 20% and possible £12 customs charge?

How dark is the visor? Can your face be seen through it? And can it be easily removed by unscrewing it like the PCR Vader and Stormtrooper?

It does look slightly smaller or shorter than the fph2. Is it just the photo?

Fettpride looks smaller from the side...but from the front only the rangefinder is too short.I think its only the photo. But real dates would be interesting.

Just got my EFX today (bought directly from EFX a few months ago). Anyone else have trouble with the clear part of the range finder? You have to remove it to get to the batteries. Mine comes off very easily, you don't even have to use the spring loaded thingy. Anyone else have this experience? The little tab (not the one attached to the spring, but the other one on the end that goes into the black part) seems too small to actually hold it in. Can someone share pics of yours so I can see if mine is broken?

I think this is because the side view is not level with the image frame (look at the bottom tile edges), and the Fettpride does not have the top of the rangefinder attached. Correct for those, and I think it will be a lot closer.

Trying myself with these adjustments, it also appears that in the side view the Fettpride is a little more distant from the camera as well, so there is some perspective at play. The rangefinders are also at slightly different angles.

Understood. So, if the value of the product and price of shipping are properly declared, either by them or you, then you've got your $489 + the £12 import fee. The VAT is added to the combined sum of the customs charge and the product, which brings the total to just over $600 or around £460.

If they've done it right it this efx should be noticeably bigger than the FPH2 to the naked eye, which will be due to the FPH2's origins.

Shipping to the UK was $110 on my BAIT order which brings the total price paid for the helmet and shipping to $489.

I said EFX, not Bait. When I tried to pre-order the Legend Vader years ago directly from EFX site, shipping to my country was $700, I have screenshot of their site with that quote. And to that you add 19% VAT and customs too (both for the helmet AND shipping). And one more thing, usually EFX ships through couriers like FedEx and this way you pay all these taxes, no way to avoid them.

Indeed. For years MR and EFX talked about using different shipping companies to avoid these costs but it never happened. I would never order direct from EFX again for the reasons you've mentioned. The BAIT shipping although still high is very fair compared to the likes of FedEx

This is an extremely nice helmet. That being said, why so expensive? I thought that these were supposed to be at a bit lower price point due to material and process. I had an MR when they came out and only paid 50 bucks more for it. I am not a purist and don’t mind idealized props (which nowadays they all pretty much are due to process during production, 3D printing etc) I pre ordered a Hasbro assuming the paint process won’t hold up and happy to repaint.
For clarity-not dissing this helmet, want one, just think that 250, even 299 is a more ’fair’ markup. I can’t see how these are costing 150-200 to manufacture Licensing et al. We really just throw money at these guys, which I think contributes to the Anovos ‘let them eat cake’ situation we are in now. I am now raising shields.......

Got mine today...And I am completely happy with it. It's exactly what I hoped it would be. Doesn't feel flimsy at all, and is perfectly suited for a home with little ones that might want to touch it. Paint job is stellar.
