EFX PCR boba helmet

500 way back then
yeah maybe. That’s way better than the MR though . it’s obviously a hand painted prototype is my point. They’re not going to hand paint all of them for that price. So I’m still saying the final it’s not going to look like that. It may not even look like anything if they pull the same crap as the scout helmet.

The PCR Vader looked also spot on like on the pics.Very good painted and with sharp clean lines between black and gunmetal.
Why they should post pics of the Boba with this great paintjob and shipping a Rubies one? When it looks bad I send it back to my toydealer.
But I think it will look great.

I can’t see the paint job being what it is on display, for 375 bucks.

I’m dying to know how it’s applied

I’ve been talking about this all day with my friend who is a huge Fett collector

Dying to know how it’s applied

Why? Because it happens all the time and because it’s efx. They are known liars and have a horrible reputation for putting out product that is inferior to their claims. Vader is black and gunmetal. That’s a huge difference from the multicolored, multilayered, finely detailed, paint chip, scratch, and dent paint job that Fett requires. The final Vader legend that people received looked nothing like the Vader legend they posted pictures of to get everyone to preorder it. McDonalds hamburgers don’t really look like they do on the menu. It’s not a new thing.

for display only....it says.....maybe its a reissue of that Target Boba helmet by Rubies....injection molded plactic....in parts snapped together...
It's not. I think because their helmets are licensed as prop replicas, not costume pieces like Anovos, they have to say that they are meant for display purposes. But if you watch the video it has padding on the inside and obviously it can go on your head. All the PCR helmets are comprised of multiple plastic parts. On Vader and now Fett the seams aren't that noticeable. The Stormtrooper suffers a lot from it in my opinion.

There is one thing people need to remember when talking about EFX alas:

Against my better judgement I pulled the trigger and pre-ordered. A ESB Fett helmet is literally the only product that would persuade me to do business with EFX again (Still waiting for my Scout Legend. I got my PCR vadar helmet, so if I never get the scout, my $300 deposit went to that at least.)

If they really do ship in June/July and the helmet looks as good as the sample, I'd never forgive myself for passing this up. Those are really big ifs, but my love for boba makes me do crazy things.

Like I said..they will not use a multilayered painting. They will use the same like on the MR ESB helmet. And that looks good enough for me.
And if the helmet is fiberglass or not...I can put 2 layers of fiberglass in the helmet and have a fiberglass one.And yes your right they have a bad reputation..but when I don´t order from them direct I have no risk.So when the helmet is in stock here and looks good I will buy it.Don´t forget this helmet has a lineage to a screenused Fetthelmet. They did a siliconmold of it..not a scan like all the Anovos stuff. With this informations and the working electric range finder and metalearsparts the price is ok in my eyes.

And yes I know that its possible ,that it looks not 100% like the prototype. But my role model is the paintjob of the MR ESB helmet. When it looks good like this I´m happy with the helmet. And because they did it with the MR one I know that its possible for a massproduction prop.I know some fanmade paintjobs are better..but the helmets costs more than double of the EFX if you want one with lineage plus shipping and high customfees. At the end we will see how the EFX will look...when they can really deliver it in that timeframe...but because the PCR Vader was a good release and also in the timeframe I think they could do this also with the Boba.

Not sure what you're talking about. MR absolutely did use a multi-layering process. They used stencils, laid down a base, stenciled another color, laid down the next stencil and did that color.
MR was decent, but it was a "high end" prop limited edition for its time. This is an "economy class" PCR helmet for cheaper that touts a near perfect paint job on the prototype and i just merely commented that the final product will not look as good as that hand painted prototype, just like all of their other final products don't look as good as their respective prototypes.

I care more about not supporting a dishonest business who repeatedly rips people off than getting a cheap boba fett helmet that may or may not look close to the MR. To me, it's not about buying if from a dealer instead of buying it directly from EFX, it's about not buying at all because they don't deserve my money.
The pattern of "boo! EFX bad! Oooh look new helmet! Gimme Gimme! Boo EFX Bad!! Ooh look new helmet!" is why they can continue to do this and continually rip people off. As long as people keep buying it they have no reason to stop.

Pics from the display at Celebration. For what it’s worth the claim is that this is a factory run version on display, not a prototype...

The MR is also the PrePro3, not the ESB. They're almost identical... Almost. The guy MR hired to paint the prototype from the helmet Lucasfilm sent them pointed this out, but the Lucasfilm Archives people refused to accept they'd made a mistake and swap helmets. So MR shrugged and went ahead with the helmet they'd been sent.

Also, are people forgetting the nice, hard-plastic, 1:1, $50 Boba helmet Rubies put out a couple years ago? Yeah, there are a couple concessions to injection-molding that need to be addressed, and it needs to be repainted, but there are good, accurate stencils out there. Since there was discussion of not having a good base to work from, and there is, I thought I'd point that out. A PCR will probably retain the horrid asymmetry of the original. So there's that. Me, I prefer the symmetry of the Rubies lid.

The overly thick red trim on the front of the Rubies helmet is a deal breaker for me. It's not a bad base Mandalorian helmet, but due to its design and shape I don't like pretending it's an accurate Fett even with a good paintjob.

Does Bait charge you now for the PO or only when it ships?

There are stencil kits for the rubies!? Can you link me?!
