eFX Gets Star Trek License

Yes I have confirmed it and the acrylic case and the holster are two separate issues. The tricorder does not come with an acrylic case. The case is extra (I think its like 30 dollars)and may be ordered when the time comes for shipping. The holster is exactly that...a black tricorder holster for the first 250 people to order.

Only one is fine for me for now! After the MR business, let's hope that one arrives.

Hopefully they will deal the necessary preventative security initiatives on their end but I am prob. more nervous about broadcasting that their checkout is not secure here than I am of it prob. not being secure, LOL. Let's just bury that info and take our concerns straight to them.

A holster would be nice, but I haven't read or heard anything about this. Anyone have concrete info? Acrylic case sounds like a clear plastic case and not a holster.

Also, since there are clearly many more of these left, I repeat that shipping out the first batch early will help create buzz for the remaining pieces. I first heard about EFX's plans for a Mark IX HERE, and I usually consider myself up to date on Trek's official merch. I am sure there are hundreds of people who don't even know about this that would jump at the chance.

Back to out previously schedule homework. DOH.

Thanks for the info Onigiri!

I wonder if this product will reduce the value of my MR Tricorder. What do you guys think.

Im actually a little disappointed that they will be doing the D7 and not the Vor'cha class battle cruiser. I mean, it makes sense... There will definitely be more commercial interest in the TOS style, but its just so plain. While I really dont collect non-federation style pieces (didnt bite at the MR Klingon pistol), I was actually excited for the Vor'cha. Its a fun ship, and much more detailed and fun than the D7. I hope at least that they go with a K't'inga class, its a little more fun. I know the ship model came from Ed Miarecki and is already in so whatever it will be...

I remember the Vor'cha from watching DS-9 and the old Star Trek Armada PC game, it kind of brings back the good old days when I was just getting into Trek, albeit I haven't watched TOS yet...

Personally, I'd love it if they'd do the D7 from the Motion Picture. That baby I would jump on in a heart beat.

The K't'inga is the refit of the D7 that we saw in TMP. I too hope for this version. I know Miarecki has both but I'd bet it's the TOS style D7. You can see both on his website, and oddly enough you can see the MR collection in the background of the pics. If someone calls up eFX for a more legit reason than bugging for info on upcomming products you should ask. I'm sure it's no secret and like I posted before they already have the ship in the shop so it's not up in the air.

It looks to me like there is over 333 preorders now if the bar corresponds to 1000 Limite pieces, just thought that was interesting

I dunno... I caved after watching First Contact last night and placed an order. If the order numbers correspond to the numbers sold, then only 198 have been sold so far (my order number is 100198)

Remember, the retailer orders will start to cut into that meter at some point. Could see it drop quickly as their orders come in.

All the pessimism is really dissapointing. I get it... Everyone has Icons flashbacks with the demise of MR. I think it's cool that eFX is making good on MR's shortcommings and what many felt were just empty promises. Remember that this is the person who was there from the beginning and walked away when he saw the direction MR was going. I'm excited (and hopeful) for eFX to pacify all ye naysayers and start something that will last. As long as I'm already on a rant... I get that these are not cheap replicas, but the critics kill me with their complaints. I remember back 10-15 years when I was brokering GM's original MK X's for $1200-$1500. I have the MR version and for a third of the cost it's much much better. Considering they break out the bells and whistles, I really think they are quite reasonable, and from resale prices have proven their collectible value. Okay... I don't know where I'm goin with this. I just took a few shots of whiskey to wind down and was bored while smoking a cig so I thought I would rant. Not trying to hate... I am however very excited to see what eFX can do for us!

agreed, I can't wait till they come out,

anyway the problem that existed before was mainly due to the fact that the warehouse in China couldn't get everything together b/c of the recession's impact on the toy/collectible industry there. Honestly there's nothing to worry about here, EFX has done great with the products they've released as of yet, they know the Mark IX's will be a huge selling piece and will without a doubt deliver something incrdible to have,

the fact that they'll be partly metal is especialy exciting:thumbsup

EDIT:
I never got a confirmation email either, but the order is still listed on the EFX site
