eFX Gets Star Trek License

I had also sligh probs with my order over the website, but after calling Bryan :)thumbsup(y)thumbsup:thumbsup great and terrific guy), he's going t handle it.

He also says, that the website migh have little issues, since it's launched recently, but stays in contact with the web-designers, so that they'll fix this asap.

Can anyone Confirm for certain the order number directly corresponds with your place in line for the 1-250 special bonus (Holster)? I'm 100139 if that's the case :love

No, it does not!

I have order #100209 and the bar is getting close to half way down. I think we are looking at a 500 piece edition size. Makes sense for a signature edition, i'm sure the signer puts a limit on how much signing they want to do and 1000 is alot. 500 is a bit more managable.

Since we're touching on a Signature matter, I need to ask one thing as I never has the chance to get any signed items:

Will Brent Spiner personally sign all 1000 Tricorders or would eFX just scan one of his best signature and replicate them 1000 times?

Because if he did, and he suffered Carpal Tunnel Syndrome at Tricorder #111, then everyone would be in trouble (except for the first 111 owners whose Tricorders would be priceless). And if he did managed 1000 signatures, all signatures would be minutely different and we might have to buy/cheat/kill to complete 1000 Tricorders.

Sorry I had to ask as it kept me thinking all night.

Yeah, but if you're getting paid lets say $50k to sign your name 1000 times, you'd suffer through it. I would.

$50k?!?!

I don't think it would be that much. I hope it wasn't that much That's a large upfront number when it comes to an item. We're talking more than a quarter of what the total earnings would be. Not to mention she's coming at $50 cheaper than the MR counterpart with a holster. Of course, there is the acrylic case but I'm sure that wasn't a huge cost factor.

$50 a pop isn't that much for a signature. I am going to guess most of the tooling for the prop was already done and paid for by MR. This is why they can offer it for the price they are. ie cheaper than MR. The signature brings in more buyers and paying $50k to sell $350k worth of product is not a bad investment if it helps sell it out. The signature was a big selling point for me.

The signature editions that I've bought so far, all from MR, were all individually signed, which is what I beleive eFX does too.

Sorry if this has been mentioned as I am kind of late to this thread being away when it went up for sale.

Had a look at the website video they posted and it looks like they didn't fix the delayed closing ratchet sound effect?

Disappointing.

Ouch. I saw that too. Makes me kind of wish they'd just do away with the closing ratchet sound effect all together.

And is it just me, or does the sound cycle sound awfully slow?

I had an MR Tricorder and to be honest that looks like the regular MR version and not the one Bryan has spoke of with improvements.

May be what they had on hand at the time to shoot the video.

I can see that. Maybe this is a prototype that was made using the old electronics. Prototypes always have the nitpick worries. Take the 'one-piece' struts on the Hollywood Collectibles Pulse Rifle. They literally told us it would not be one-pieced with the other materials in making the replica.

Here's hoping!:thumbsup

I have to agree, the signatures were a big selling point for me too. When MR did the TOS stuff I had to buy a Nimoy version and a Shatner version of each. If it were not for the signatures I would have only bought one. Doubling a sale is not a bad business strategy. :lol:lol
