eFX Gets Star Trek License

Its non-refundable if you cancel it. If the product never arrives, then most likely we will get our money back. Don't keep confusing eFX with MR.

Well at least MR did'nt charge you untill the item was ready to ship :unsure

I'd need to read the agreement again carefully to be sure.

Hey EFX. Please ship the first 250 by November. If you don't sell out, you can capitalize on our great reviews and the raving YouTube videos I am sure that will follow.

That's great Temponaut!!! I was nervous for you. After the heartache and frustration I felt after MR cancelled, I didn't want anyone to experience that. Glad to hear you got one!!!

Thanks, galling! Something like this happened to me not too long ago -- I was blocked from accessing a site by a local server when I tried to purchase a very limited edition Blade Runner prop replica on a site here in Japan, and ended up missing out -- so I was bumming pretty hard when it became obvious that everyone was making their purchases from eFX while I couldn't even see the right page. But when you wrote, "Can't you call?" I thought to myself, "Yeah, can't I call? Why not?"

I really appreciate the support you offered. After one frustrating hour of rebooting, resetting, cache emptying, switching browsers, clicking direct links, all to no avail, I was ready to give up. And I would have, if not for you.

Thanks, man! :thumbsup

Yeah, but then they left most of us hanging with the Tricorders and Stromtrooper Helmets. So I wouldn't use them as an example.

As I posted before the gift is a replica holster not the top of the display case. My guess is that the acrylic case isn't offered on the site yet because it's not available yet. My understanding is that they are still trying to get the case tops out of china. I'm excited to see how this looks next to my MR. I guess the only noticeble dfferences will be the color and the diffused lights, but still very exciting.

I ordered mine via phone also due to internet problems. The guy I spoke to at EFX said that they are talking to a supplier about the acrylic cover to get the price down and that it will probably cost about $39.00. He told me that when you make the final payment you will be able to add that onto your order so it will ship together.

I think you are missing the point.

The point is you PAID no money so you were NOT out anything.

God forbid something happens to EFX, and I am sure nothing will, but say they go under before the tric's come out, BINGO we are out $ 100.00.

I'll grant you the point that if they go out of business, then we may be out the $100.00. But if you are going to worry about them going out of business, then don't order from them. I have no trouble giving them a $100.00 deposit and it looks like a lot of other people don't either.

:lol Yep, and then when the fan-boys cry that they were left hanging I will be right there with them. :lol

You know, I really support efx and think they're doing a good job, but wow, the way things are going with efx's new website, I'm disappointed. I mean, it's just poor form to have a new website go live the same day as a major item being offered for sale. And did anyone bother to test it? It's very difficult to navigate in IE6 (which I have here at work, so it's not by choice), as it doesn't render the pulldowns correctly; instead, a big gray box blots out the majority of the site. And in Firefox 3, it eventually worked, after accepting the site certificate. But then when I go to submit my credit card information, it's via an unsecure page, not a secure https page like it should be. My confidence level in efx has certainly gone down a couple of pegs....

Oh, shush. We don't have issues or worries about depositing money that's non-refundable. We're just curious on the business practice it entails. I can certainly see and understand that having a deposit upfront and being non-refundable will save the company a heck of a lot of trouble is they get returns.

But what is something really goes wrong with the service? Having something be non-refundable definitely isn't an attractive sales point because you can't really stamp a guarantee onto it.

If it's true that the gift is a holster that would MAKE the prop! awesome news! When I talked to Brian on the phone at efx this morning he said this tricorder is more acurate than the MR version as the MR one left out some details like for one this small graphic that looks like a "fence" is on the efx version but was left off the MR version and some other details as well like a light difuser being added.

I agree with you Bro, I was having problems going to the site last night so I knew today would have problems.

Today was NOT the day to have a new website go live.

Hopefully everyone did'nt have too many problems.

I could not get the website to work so I called Brian and ordered and that was just now and they still hadnt hit 250 so I got my holster :)

Reason for the problems with the website last night is they were uploading the new pages so the site wasn't "complete" and they were running tests with the checkout pages to insure everyone can place an order today, this is how I know I was the first to place the order on the Tricorder :love

I talked to Brian on the phone today and we talked for about 15 minutes and this is what was explained to me.

Hats off to Efx for bringing this item to the table!

Im wondering if it's going to come with the stand pictured on there website, its the same as the MR, I like there stands for there satr wars props, the clear acrylic and glass looks great!
