eFX Gets Star Trek License

I would just like to get some sort of update from eFX on when we can expect the Tricorders. Their website still says late November and as we are now getting into the 2nd half of November, it would be really nice of Barry or someone to let us know what is happening.

eFX needs to remember that most of us were burned by the crap that MR put us through and would like some sort of firm date on this.

An update on here would be nice, but eFX has really been great about phone updates. I never recieved a response to my customer service inquiry on the website, but when I called, the person who answered was super nice and told me that the November deadline looks like it is right on track (this was about three weeks ago). Something I didn't know and have mentioned on here was that the November deadline is when EFX receives the trics. not us or the stores. They will first get them and then go about shipping them out in the first week of December.

If you are ever looking for an update, I think the best way to get one is to call.

EDIT: Besides the random sneak posts I get to make during the day, I am a little too busy to call myself today. If anyone does call, please post the response you got!

I'm looking forward to anything they do from the Star Trek Line, but would really love to see the Movie Versions of the Communicators and Phasers.

I think you will see eFx (and whatever next company comes out of the inevitable post collapse of eFx) resell the the TOS stuff again and again until no one is buying anymore. I think there is a lot more market left in TOS though so get ready for an MR Phaser with a slightly thicker P1 and an MR Communicator with a slightly thinner bottom :lol .

They still havent sold the first 250 direct through the website (although its very close now) so, YES, you will get the holster. Just as the retailers are doing, eFX will offer it separately as an accessory too. While eFX supports sales through their retailers, the only reason I can see to buy third party would be to save yourself the 10% sales tax if you are a resident of CA.

As for the release time frame...They will ship end of November from Hong Kong and should arrive within the first two weeks of December. The only thing that could hold it up now is customs. Also there may potentially be an issue with Brent Spiners availablility because although the display plaques are in they have not yet been signed, and he may be out of town for a few (as of yet unknown) days still this month.

I've wanted a next-gen Tricorder for ever... and I can't believe there's finally an all singing all dancing affordable one available, right as my wife changes jobs and has to pay back an £1,800 bonus... effectively wiping out this next months's wage. Right before Xmas. lol

I hope they have some of these left in the new year...

You should tell them that when you order... I tried to get my hands on an AP but was told they are only for the employees, CBS, and a few for promotions and charity functions. I told them that I am a good charity and that I do promote them. Not like you really needed that much of a push...but youre the third person who credited me with "selling" them on this product. I want the AP!

If you wait long enough and don't care how much you spend, AP's will eventually show up on Ebay, I even saw a couple of eFX's Stormtrooper Helmets on Ebay over the last 6 months. Also, look at all the MR AP's that have been showing up over the last couple of years.

Well most of those MR APs that have been on there recently "dissappeared" from the warehouse towards the end.... Not the biggest deal, but I figured it was worth asking for one. If you dont ask, you dont get...

The AP tends to carry a little more collectible value, but no, there is nothing really different. They cant be sold and there are no royalties collected. There are about 30 of em. Most go to CBS, each of the eFX employees get one, and a few go to promotional use and charity functions. I think the licensee took about half of them. I made a good push for one, but eFX isnt trying to break any rules.
