EFX Cheap Stormtrooper Helmet Rocks!!!!!!!

This is not for the purists who want the wonky, screen accurate helmet, which I also love. This is just a review of the EFX cheap Storm bucket.

It is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Due to financial circumstances I'm not getting much but I really needed this and when Redford films dropped it to a little over $100 I ordered.

This thing is great. The pics don't do it justice. It has a gorgeous finish. I was worried it would look like dull plastic but it has a nice shiney finish looking very similar to the Fiberglass Clone and Storm lids from MR and EFX. It is idealized and symmetrical so this is where the purist probably wants to leave. It definatley looks like probably what was intended and would be "as issued".

The green lenses are cut in trianlges and placed with some foam around the edges. The same foam is through out the helmet. The helmet is very light and I imagine perfect for trooping. The details look great and unlike some other helmets it has real grills on the mic tips and not painted on. There is a small hole in the helmet at the back of each mic tip that allows light to come through that needs to be covered. 2 minute job.

The only gripe is the paint job arounf the frown could be a little more precise but it looks great. There is a thin piece of black cloth placed behind the frown vents to prevent see through.

This thing is just awesome for the money. You really could not ask for more. Nice trim around the bottom edge as well.

If you want an idealized, as was probably intended, as issued Stromtrooper lid this is a great deal.

Pics to come as soon as I can and I'll try to throw it up next to my EFX and MR Fiberglass Clones for comparison.

Very crisp and clean.

BTW I have nothing to do with EFX or it's affiliates. Just love this thing.

On the frown paintjob. I need to clarify. The paint job is very precise but the mould on either side of the center piece could use a hair trim. The holes in the frown. No biggie.

BTW throw in the bubble black lenses and paint the frown and you got an awesome ANH helmet.

I got the shadow trooper version and think it's great for what it is. Cheap and when my nephew comes over he can mess with it without me worrying about a $500+ helmet getting dropped. You have to have something the kids can touch. I may have to pick up a regular version too. They are good beater helms.

Agreed. For the cost it is really really good. I got one and it cured me of 30+ years of hurt and tears at not getting a Don Post from the costume shop when I was a kid.

I completely agree. It's a great helmet for what it is and I bought MR's CE when it came out and was very happy with it. I also have the MR and EFX LE Helmets and I'm extremely happy with them.

For the price, you can't beat the PCR Helmets. Not everyone has the talent or the money to buy some of the more accurate versions, like Gino's.

I really don't care if they are not 1,000,000 percent accurate to what was on the screen. They still look great and are nice to play around with.

I definitely want to pick one up when budget allows. I don't need the SA wonkines....I've just always wanted a Stormtrooper helmet, I blame it on the gift shop after Star Tours in Disneyland.

I am glad to hear these comments, I just picked one of these up off of eBay for 124.00 and was really hoping it would be decent.

I'll probably pick one up, then. I've been thinking about doing an idealized Stormtrooper for a while, and it'd make a good start.

It's good to know, I was looking for a good helmet to replace my GIANT FX helmet for trooping.

Also, does EFX make wives?
