eFX ANH DARTH HELMET SAMPLE!!

I think technically you should have. The humongous error of the missing divot on the dome turned me off immediately, but I figured, okay they are saving money with one dome mould....so I let that slide, but the other big facial boogers and dents seem to also be missing from the legend. I didn't expect that much cleanup. I have been half hoping the legends seen so far were pulled from limited moulds by accident, but I have my doubts. And like Sithlord said earlier, there are literally tons of tiny details that cannot be seen with layers and layers of paint on the helmet. I don't think that could be avoided with a normal paint process however. We can leave off primer to limit the coverage of the paint versus the detail, but it would be suicide for eFx to do that!

I'll tell you one thing. My apartment wreaks of paint with this thing sitting here.

Must have boxed them wet. But really, who hasn't done that? :lol

But the one I received looks like a monkey has been spreading bondo on this thing with a banana. There are so many waves and bumps it's ridiculous.

That would actually be just a by-product of the original sculpting process. :lol

All kidding aside, we expect these helmets to be so uniform, but there really was a lot of handiwork apparent in the rendering in clay of the original ANH helmet, which is a beautiful thing, really, at least in my eyes. The eFX certainly shows that because of its provenance.

Nope, I did not forget, Thomas. Am I mistaken in the flaring I see on your dome though?

Yes. But independent of that, you negated the SL ANH as being a pristine casting on account of what, a perceived difference in flaring from the original ANH? I see that just as baiting, saying there isn't any casting so no one can make comparisons to the eFX.

What flaring are you referring to? Dome flaring? Neck flaring?

Just my opinion. There is always other forums to do your bashing, trolling comments about eFX Vader bucket, or curse Gino all day, all night:darnkids...i think there is a forum right for you guys,...:rolleyes

In this wonderful "secret forum":

There's a saying "Nobody likes being told their baby is ugly."

The spirit of the community is to discuss any and every prop down to it's most minute pros and cons.

Not in the way you guys are taking the discussion. Dont take me wrong. I respect and admire your work on photography, and i mean it. But one thing is to make observations and take a normal discussion, and other is to take it to the extreme madness. Im sorry if i offended the members of that forum, or you, in that case i apologize. But you agree that this is not the forum to bash, and still make pointless details that not the mayority want it to read. Im sick and tire to read (again, and again, and again) the same stupidity from the same old guys about this "my helmet is better because i say so...bla, bla bla....i mean...WHO CARES??? 3 of 4 of you???. fine, you can always go to the special created forum for all Vader. But what's the meaning of come here to write stupidity???...i dont think RPF is to discuss a frustration from 3 or 4 guys,...or is a competition about who is the first of same "Vader so-call experts" who close again a thread???...

If it weren't for the nit pickers (with extreme interest in Vader helmets) the EFX Legend never would have happened the way it did. It would have been so homogenized we would have had another Don Post Deluxe only ANH version. Remember Gino is one of the nit pickers too. You may call it "stupidity", but it would not have happened and turned out as well as it did without that "stupidity".

I think stripping one down would be helpful because yes some of the finer detail just won't show up under paint. But then again, there is a lot of other detail that would.

Yea, I'll be the sacrificial lamb for the stripping down. Only the faceplate, not the dome. I'm in no way knocking EFX, I applaud them for this product ! Another reason is I want to extremely weather it EXACTLY like TAT. IV. Not just a pristine brush stroke job.

So i need to "thanks" the 3 or 4 guys who insisted that his "bad-casting- pirates-helmets" are "far superior" than the eFX one.????...do i have to "thanks" the same 3 of 4 guys who think Gino was the wrong option and called him names like a bounch of children????...the same 3 or 4 guys who want, at all cause, to disapprove and condemn all the efforts of eFX just because they were'nt the first choice in that task???...Dont think so.

Im only thanks to the real professional people who help to created this collectible. Not the sick weirdos without life, who lived obsessed with their own top secret helmets pivots, c-scars, scraches all days of his life in all the forums that they can. This stupids need a shrink, not the public recognition.

One thing is the real professional and decent guys with real interest to share and to learn all the Vader helmet prop details, and other is the wise guys who live in the shadows and pretend to be experts with the "true" locked from the rest of the world...

we need common sense here.

Can't wait to see that!

I am forwarding one of these to a member.

I know I am in the minority here because I think recreating every nick and wave is insane.

But the one I received looks like a monkey has been spreading bondo on this thing with a banana. There are so many waves and bumps it's ridiculous.

I know some people will enjoy that.

I would never pay that kind of money for this helmet.

But whatever floats your boat.....

Whoa...hey Mic can you extrapolate on this please. My legend is coming Tuesday. Not quite sure weather to take your observation in a positive light or negative. lol

Charles, we nitpickers are here to help and guide you. There is lots and lots of knowledge among these gentlemen. Try to read what points are being made and you might learn something new about these castings. I've got a pocket full of cash that says gino would probably be just as disappointed in one of these legend helmets as Vader71 was if their roles had been reversed! Doesn't mean it's not a beautiful helmet and one to be proud of, it just means it didn't live up to the Baker mould hype for a few discerning collectors. :)

Here's some advice for everyone: If a guy doesn't share your opinion about a prop, instead of instantly hating him, try to learn what he's seeing that is bothering him and figure out why he's seeing it. It's guaranteed to sharpen your eye for these little details. It might even help you figure out how to fix your own helmet and make it what you want it to be. Sometimes that's half the fun. :)

Awww Cmon, If you had a defining piece you cherished, you'd probably act like a Mr. know it all too. (no offense to anybody) It's just part of human nature. Diagnosed as Vader helmet syndrome disease. VHSD:lol

Mate are you for real. I’m no Vader expert but i would like to be so i am interested in any info these 3 or 4 people have to say. Also i have been watching a few of these threads on the vader helmet and i haven’t seen any of the childish behaviour you talk about. I also agree with vaderdarth on Gino if the rolls were reversed im sure we would have seen the old Gino and not the new and improved version. I hope the experts continue to discuss this helmet as they are doing it in a polite manner that i think you are taking the wrong way.

@Darth Charles All i see are 3-4 guys making childish posts like you and try to put others in a bad light who just make constructive critic on an official product. If this is not allowed on an open forum then i dont know. And lookin at this thread there are far more than just a few who share the same opinion about this legend edition.
