BTW... it's been a while. The thread requires this GIF again:

Its is so funny to see the clan people waiting in line to bash without proof.

Let me get this straight Gino, and this is pure logic, theres no magic reasoning here:
So far we have seen pics of the TM, VP and the SL plus the RB mold.

This helmets are the top casts out there, and some come from the UK mold and others from the US mold, so pretty much we are covered here.

the only cast that shows a scar is one of the TM, which, looks rather fishy.

None other has or shows a scar.

So, are we to assume that there is another MISTERIOUS mold out there that nobody knows that is bringing casts with the C scratch?

Its sounds weird, because the first thing that happens when some one has a new Vader finding is that the owner brags about it forever and ever.

If that mold or cast exists,it would certainly have a catchy nickname by now.Or initials.

the eternal, or the supreme sounds like it.

Oh dear God in heaven...

Some of you people are hopeless. Seriously. How do you go through life with sticks so far up your bums everyday? It's as fascinating as it is annoying.

QFT :thumbsup

Bryan,

Thanks for chiming in. I for one am very pleased with the helmet and I'm looking forward to many more offerings from eFX. Since I'm not one of the chosen, this is the closest I'll even get to a screen used helmet. But it seems even the chosen are not as close as they thought.

Be careful!!!!
The pillow may scratch the helmet and convert the "C" scar in a "D" scar!

After you must put it in the garbage!

:lol

Buy a silver bucket, i used a sharpie black for the features.
Also, for the C scar get a paper clip and un twist it and do it with the edge, works the best.
You might wanna re touch the sharpie features every morning.. you know...drooling and stuff.

I dont recommend using the bucket when, you know, are...hugging your wife, can get a little bumpy in the head for her ;).

:lol

I know we've gone OT a bit, but really... isn't a little levity better than all that bickering and petty white noise?

Well that's your problem right there. Your hardware store bucket has the wrong type of chinstrap/handle and the plastic is not bubbled properly. Whereas my clothes basket has the 15 eleveated bumps that match the screen used helmet. I have pics to verify all this and can produce composite shots of the same angle, lighting, etc.

How dare you try and pass off your bucket as being authentic? :)

...it sounds just as silly when debating for real...

OK, I have been reading this thread now off and on for a couple days now. When this whole C-scar issue came up I decided to pop in my copy of Star Wars and watch the close up of Vader 's facemask in the Tantive iV scene when he's talking to Leia. Before that I had read CS Maclaren's post where he had said the C-scar is dimensional because of how it caught the light as Vader turned his head. After watching that close-up shot of Vader's facemask frame by frame back and forth I was also convinced that the C-scar was dimensional.

Then Gino came along and showed the pics of the cheek area of the Baker Mold without the c-scar. I went back and watched that shot again FRAME BY FRAME BACK AND FORTH several times. I watched this on a new top of the line calibrated 60 " Panasonic HDTV, the source was DVD taken from a PAL disc and upscaled through my Blu-ray disc player. So not a native HD source but still very sharp and good enough to see what I had to see.

What I noticed was that the gunmetal paint splotches on the upper top corner and lower bottom corner of Vader's right cheek had reacted to light in a similar manner as the 'C-scar' area. That is, as Vader turns his head from left to right, away from the light source, the upper corner gunmetal paint splotch faded out and nearly disappears, while the lower paint blemish disappears completely as does the c-scar area.

What I am saying here is that the 'c-scar' is actually reacting to the light the same way as the gunmetal paint blemishes do in the same area(plane)/ angle to the light source. And not as others have said, that it was reacting differently to the painted areas and therefore had to be a topological mark, scratch or paint chip.

Take from this what you will, but after seeing the photos of the Baker Molds and then watching this area carefully from that shot in the film I am convinced that Gino is correct when he says the 'c-scar' is painted and not a chip, scratch, etc.

On how it got there - who can say? Gino says it was deliberate weathering. I believe as someone said earlier that it was probably handled improperly and someone's finger had wet paint on it or something and voila! C-scar! But I am definitely thinking it is just a paint element.

Bingo! :thumbsup
You are seeing the the effect of light reflecting off the gunmetal paint.

In this forum there are 60 users, Legend Edition owners, that will never sleep well because the "C" scar.........

Based on the responses in this thread, it seems like there will be about 5-6 people (who don't have an eFX helmet) who will never sleep well because of the 60+ members who now do.
