That mark 7 looks like a junk pile...
and that won the costume contest at Comic-con?

I don't even think it's the moving parts that won Lee the contest I think it's just that he has a bunch of facetime on the web in interviews for his suits. Popularity always wins contests there was one at a convention I went to where this spot on master chief lost to a female link because it was link with boobs. Another one where these amazing breath taking costumes from all over lost to a woman who made her clothes and her baby's clothes out of patches that made a comic story.
DW's suit is another example of breathtaking being outshone by 'the attention *****' for lack of a better term though the last example I made with the woman and her baby was rigged cause she knew the judges and she was some big famous volunteer at the convention, how a volunteer gets to enter a costume contest at their own convention is beyond me and she got $1k in cash and a traditional Japanese dress worth $10k for sewing store bought patches in order and knowing the right people, it's just not fair.

Of course it should be noted that DW didn't enter the masquerade. Lee usually does. With SDCC, I have never seen popularity play a part in it. It's all about craftsmanship. In this case Lee is the master of the garbage can. He works with that plastic better than anyone I have seen.

WOW, thanks for all the complements! I promise to get back to the finished build here soon. I've just been really busy with work. I did get a chance to wear my Iron Man last night. I still want/need to repaint my suit. I did get to attach the rubber pieces that go on the top of the thighs but did not paint them. The clone suit in the photo was built and painted by me.

I see how you cut the tabs off of of the shins here, how did you then connect the shin and thigh? I searched through your thread but didn't see anything on this. I added tabs to the thighs on my suit so I could run chicago screws through them to connect to the circular pieces on the shin, but I'm finding the joint around the knee to be too tight, though the rest of the shin/thigh are fine...

When I'm wearing the suit the thighs and calves are not connected.
I figured it would be just too difficult have them attach together.

Darren, looks awesome. I'm still working on assembling and getting electronics in mine and was wondering how you're holding up the legs? I know you have elastic that runs front of one leg to back of the other, but are you stringing it over a belt to hold those straps up?
