DS base for x-wing display

Does anyone offer a Death Star base for an xwing to mount onto?

I have a CC xwing with just a small block base, and I wanted to get a nicer (larger) base for it. I am also working on a visual display with some sounds that I want to incorporate into the base. Even a styrene shell would be nice to start with, as I need to be able to cut holes for the display and the switches.

Hey Greg! I've seen your work (obviously),and just want to say thank you for the MDF idea! I'm not trying to hijack this thread,but I saw the problem that you had keeping a straight line. I use two boards intersected(put along the drawn out lines),and held with double faced tape to make a straight corner while routing2 cents. I hope that this helps in some small way! How easy is it to cut a rectangular box out of one of your tiles? I was hoping it would withstand going through a scroll saw??

I want to mount a display screen on the front of the base. It will have an interactive x-wing display complete with sounds!

I can't get the link to work but it could just be my work computer.:unsure Is this for the X-Wing on your site? I just read a build of an Salzo on another forum that used your light kit. Very nice. How is the R2 lit?

I need to get a base going for my Salzo V2 as well. Although without power, darn ice storm, I can't do much.

Hmmm, hope the file is ok - I could play it out here. Yes this is for the x-wing on my site. I want to make a better base for it with other features to turn the lights on and play with the display screen.

R2 is lit using fiber and LEDs. The white LED lights up the dome logic displays, and the red/blue and green/yellow LEDs light up R2's front/rear PSIs. You can choose between a blinking PSI effect (ESB) or a fading effect (ANH). I like the effect as it gives R2 some life!

Jim they should be able to have a scroll saw cut out a section they are pretty tough.

No, really I think the tiles are going to make this thing. Otherwise I wouldnt have any way to house everything and make it look good. Glad I found you making them, it got me excited to finish up the project for sure!

I am going to look at some base ideas, the particle board may be the way to go. I like your pics. I am wondering if I can find a flag display box or something like that to use as the base piece. It would save me from having it to build one, but I want to do this right!

Boy, if I only had an xwing with wing armatures then it would be seriously crazy! BTW, I had one other video of the trench end game. I want to put some red leader voice snippets that play out with that, would be funny! :lol
