Dream World or Possibility: Avengers Films grow into Civil War movie?

Could it be done? Captain America and Iron Man went face to face in The Avengers but of course, that was the natural progression of the film.

Doubt it, too many of the other players in Civil War are tied up by other studios. It'd be pretty hard to pull that one off without the X-Men or Spiderman.

For adapting the Civil War storyline effectively, the Marvel cinematic universe needs to get crowded with more characters and lot of time needs to pass on. So yeah maybe after 10 or 15 years it could work.

Way too many players involved for this to happen. I'm not talking about the studios but the characters. Avengers, FF, X-Men, Thunderbolts, Hulk, New Warriors, Deadpool, and so many more. Plus that awful Iron Spider suit would most likely be in it...

Seeing Taskmaster would be pretty cool, though.

Agreed, they would need more characters for live action. However an animated Marvel Civil War movie would be great!

That'd be an interesting move. Using the live action films to set up a animated off shoot Civil War

I personally would rather they just stay away from civil war. There are some great moments within, but ultimately there are so many flaws with the premise. On top of that, it just wouldn't make a good film.

I also agree with what a bunch of others said in a different thread, having Xmen and superheros in the same universe really doesn't make a whole lot of sense. I am happy that so far they haven't crossed over on screen.

Marvel has had several successful animated films including Ultimates and Ultimates 2, I say go for it!

Yeah, the Hulk vs is pretty awesome but then you take a wider scope and those Iron Man movies.... no. And I haven't watched the Anime versions yet but I haven't heard good things

I thought that Marvel were trying to negotiate/buy back the rights from these other studios for this very reason. Maybe I imagined reading that but it would be cool to see a Civil War movie.

It would be way to cluttered, or at least that's how I feel.

Civil war is one of those things I just love to much to be messed up...it belongs on the pages of a comic book.

That being said, I would still go see it if it did happen.

They want the rights so that they make more profit and we stop getting stupid movies like Rise of the Silver Surfer, not to go out for a Civil War movie, that was just the 2000s giant cross over cluster like Onslaught was in the 90s.

The storyline is way too huge for a movie. Now a Game of Thrones style television show... THAT would be awesome! :D

Shows you how much I don't know about comics. I read the title and thought "man, the American Civil War? That's reaching...." :lol

The only way you'll get Spider man & The F-4 back in Disneys hands now is stop going to see those damn movies. The contracts on those characters are stated that they must have movies out with in a time limit or they must give back the rights to Marvel ( Disney now). So there is a new F-4 movie in the works right now, also a Deadpool & magneto ( who ever has the X-men rights). You also need to get back The punishers rights as well. Anyway i would love a Civil war movie and there is still hope for one. Disney has mega bank roll and power, if they want them..they will get them or give % of profit to use the guys. They could have gotten Spider man, but the film was out this year. Dont be shocked if he shows up in the next Avengers movie to dry hump Black widow.

BTW get rid of Samuel L. "angry black guy" jackson as well...let him get killed or what not.

i hated Civil War....i agree there were a few good moments but overall it wasnt for me....it was one of the main reasons why i stopped reading comics....
