Dragonslayer Props

Man I remember that spear being so much more impressive . I guess it was because I was like 8 or something when I saw it ? Man that's a real let down, It's funny how we sometimes remember things being different than they really were.

I'm sad now.

I remember it looking more like the big guy's mace from that movie with the little guys with the hairy feet and the ring.

I remember it being big and heavy like no normal person could just pick it up and throw it. Something like this.

But cooler and scarier, I did have my hands over my eyes for most of the film, you have to remember I was like 5 .

There are not many, if any, props out there. The spear would be pretty easy to make out of ABS plastics and a real wood handle.

i used to have the offical promo biro pens given out before the movie, they had the spear tip on them in grey plastic.

Oooo. I've been on an old movie kick lately (The Black Hole most recently). Now I"ll have to go back and watch this and see what props can be made.

I'll be doing the amulet some time next year!:love:thumbsup

I even went to a local Gem & Mineral show recently and found some accurate yellow fluorite octahedrons to use as well!:)

The yellow fluorite is the hardest thing to find from what I've experienced. There's tons of the green and light green ones, but the yellow seems to be somewhat of a rarity...:unsure

Will I be able to drag it across the table with a magnet? :lol

Cant the amulet just be sculpted and cast in clear yellow tinted resin?

Well, then it wouldn't be screen accurate...:unsure

Although, the lit up amulet could have been clear yellow resin, but it could also have been a real fluorite octahedron that had been drilled to allow a lightbulb.:confused

Hmmm....I have a few old fangoria and cinefex mags with dragonslayer in it. Need to do a little research.

I'm really curious, does anyone know what happened to the spear, shield, any hero swords or daggers or other pieces from this film? Did this stuff just get dismantled, given away to directors, or other? Anyone know?
