Dr Who Silence

My wife absolutely loves those! :)

She's also partial to the Weeping Angels and Pinhead, so you're in good company... :D

thats awesome.
has anyone else thought that the silence look just like slender man?? its pretty creepy XD

As I'm about to post asking for a close up of the gloves ( I know the person who made that tutorial on Indy Mogul, She'd be pretty happy!) and the post before me is someone also from IM.... Cra-zeh!!!

Awesome job by the way, it looks spot on... well it would if I could remember what it loked like :p

Echoing what to other guys asked, what is the vision like?

I thought about sculpting my own silence mask also, but how in the world do you see out of them?

The vision wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. I got in contact with the original sculptor and he told me that the actors looked out of the slits next to the nose. My head was off a bit, so I just used the nose. The River and Amy in our group got to lead my brother and I around and help us know which way to face for photos.

As for the gloves, they are not my best work and have gotten quite a bit of con damage. The paint is starting to scrap off. But they looked good in the shoot and no one is really looking at the hands anyway.

@Tremas: I'm in love with all the Dr. Who Monster and am seriously considering doing the Ood and a cyberman next. My first Dr. Who monster was actually a Cybershade.

Just thought I'd leave a little note on my thread saying I have this costume entered into a big costume/cosplay contest that's going on right now. Here's a link to the page if anyone is interested in seeing the new picture of the Silence I entered, along with the other 3 costumes. They include the Stitchpunk puppet 7, Tali from Mass Effect and the lurker from Silent Hill.

Don't be afraid to vote if the urge comes over you!
The contest is called the Otaku House Cosplay Idol and they just opened up the Finals for voting today. Voting lasts a month.

Did you have to put in crafting foam to pump it up a bit? You have inspired me to make a silence costume it's absolutely amazing and also I know about how you see but how do you breathe?

I would like to know that too... I have the mask and hands but I am wondering what the easiest and best method for keeping the mask in its bulbous shape is?
thanks for your help

I actually have a bunch of plastic bags that sit in the top of the mask, just above my head. I breath through the nose holes. And look through them. Not the most comfortable, but ehhhh. I don't make costumes to be comfortable. lol

they look amazing!!! i really really want one where can i buy one
I might redo my mold in the future and sell a few casts.

I cast my masks VERY thick, so they keep their shape fairly well. As stated above, I stuff it with plastic bags and hang it in another plastic bad when not in use. When it comes time to wear it, I remove about half the bags.
