Dr Fate helmet, new 52 comic style, wip

Hi,
Here is my wip for a Dr Fate helmet.
I really like the look of the new 52 comic style.



So,
i used the excellent foam pep file from JFcustom as a base for my build.
I modified the foam pieces to suit the size and shape needed.



I then coated the foam pieces with resin to stiffen them up.


Monster clay is then add to the armature, so i can start blocking out the shape.
The eye shape and positions will be fixed later with the raised trim.

A little update.
Smooth the clay some more.
Thicken up the fin some. Not sure if i like it.
Trying to decide if i want to fix it later after the waste mold / cast is made.



Use some foamie strips to do some preliminary layout of the trim.
