Emma, what happened?
You would be very lucky if someone sold, I guess. If I were that person, I'd bring that hook to a car bodywork shop and ask to "undent" it, remove scratches, rechrome...If anybody with a scratch or dent wants to sell PM me...

OK, the factory screwed up with some of the hooks, but these are so nice, that each and every hook deserves to be restored to perfect condition again!
My hook arrived this morning and I must say that I am both impressed as well as a bit disappointed. Firstly, it arrived with absolutely no dings or scratches at all! Other than a hairline tilt of the hook (when looking at it head on from the front), there are no cosmetic issues with the piece. I am in awe of its beauty and I can not stop staring at it.
I originally intended to use this prop as part of a costume for regular use. Unfortunately, I think this replica will serve better as a display piece. The first issue is that the hook as a whole is very very heavy and it becomes uncomfortable and almost painful to wear after about 45-60 seconds of wearing it. Perhaps in future runs it can be made of aluminum or steel which is much lighter...brass is very heavy. The second issue is one that I had inquired about on this thread and never got a straight answer: the handle to hold onto was placed too far down inside the sleeve/gauntlet which makes it very difficult to hold and looks awkward. The handle should be placed further up where the bulb starts instead of lower down where it is in order to make the hook more functional and wearable.
On a side note: I needed to tighten the little piece that sticks out of the bottom of the hook part itself so that when the hook is attached, it is oriented 90 degrees from the direction of the handle. This way, if I do wear the hook, the hook will face inwards towards my body when I make a fist with my left hand so that my thumb is facing the ceiling and my pinky is facing the floor.
Mmm... I think the "heavy" of this item is what show the "impressive" part of this prop... This is planned to be in a display but could be use for a costume too... it is 1,5kg heavy, I don't think it is too much for a costume party night.... just my 2 cents
Ok. We have the hooks...
Now let's get that ransom dagger going!
