I just called DHL and mine is supposed to arrive tomorrow. They said that if you can't be home to sign for it, write a note with your name, tracking number, and signature and tape it to the door. The courier should know to leave it at the doorstep.

Mine arrived too, and luckily no dents or heavy scratches. The very minor scratches are soo tiny that I can't really complain about. You really have to get your nose on the hook to see it.

Only minor thing is that my Hook is also tilting. Not 15 degrees as someone is mentioning here, but I guess 1 or 2 degrees. Its pretty noticable if the hook is facing you. Too bad, otherwise this would have been a fantastic replica. Now it's a "pretty good" replica. I hope to get my hands on a top part where the hook is perfect. If someone wants to trade a top part that is perfect: I'm willing to pay a fair amount of cash on top of that trade ;-). As said, the tilting is not too bad, but noticable when the hooks faces me.

Mine was here today. Ding in the back and a tilted hook. The ding will face the wall while on display and the hook looks fine in a side profile.
close up of the ding and hook angle.

Yeah, maybe 15 degrees was excessive. :D It's just like the one in howlingwind13's picture. Don't get me wrong, because I'm in absolute love with it!

Oh yeah despite these things, I love it...can't wait to work on my display...since I have a pirate themed bar in my basement, this is an awesome addition.

If it is any consolation at all, here is a pic of my "temporary" hook that I use in my costuming until Sarednab's arrives. The gold ball with cuff was used on the production of the Hook film and was the original design before Tony Swatton made the hook we all know and love. Its the prototype that Tony worked from. The hook itself was from a former hook prop that I dismantled to use with this.

As you can tell, the production used ball and cuff have a lot of scratches and dings but it still has sentimental value due to its history. Check it out:

Mine arrived today as well. Couple of flat spots where they clearly dropped the box in shipping, but they're hardly noticeable unless you're looking for them. Beautiful piece. Pretty sure most of the problems folks are having was due to the poor packing.

Looks like we are running about 50% with issues and 50% clean. I guess I'll see what side of the coin I end up with tomorrow.

Well this is a bit concerning. Mine arrives on Monday so hopefully it will get here safely

Sarednab, any word from the manufacturer in case we get ones that are damaged?
