DOJ Batman costume build w/pics

Originally had planned to add some type of exotic material to an undersuit but for time and costs I came up with this instead for the suit. It's simple and I was pleased with the effect and weight of it, Batfleck is a bulky dude remember so I wanted nothing super thin.

Started with a pair of sweats I bought one size smaller so it fit snugger. I added thin duct tape strips to the pants & sweatshirt. I cut out long strips with a knife. I taped strips onto suit where they appear to be then airbrushed both pieces of clothing. Removed the tape which left this effect pattern.

I painted black shadow lines for depth by hand. Heres the foam cod piece attached to the belt I weathered.

Did a lot of customizing on this suit. Will have full pics soon. If anything at least I'll be comfy in it..

Boots, gauntlets & cape.

Boots are the clunky rubber rain ones. I cut 4" off the top section then added a foam front that wraps around it. Added a few small pieces near the front to blend it all. Sprayed plasti then bronze spraypaint on the steel toe area followed by black smearing with acrylic. I feel like Robocop walking in these awkward beasts.

Gauntlets are all craft foam. I added fins with loctite gel. I ended up getting more definition with a heat gun on the forearm but dont have a pic of that update.

Cape is a cheap vampire one. I cut the hood off and I can sinch the front ties which will be concealed under the cowl. I did staining with brown spray paint on the back bottom of cape so it looks like mud or whatever.

Here are the gloves. They're $4 mechanic ones from Harbor Freight. They only had one brand logo on them which I had to cover. Added more of a black mist over the knuckles which I like better than a bright bronze color.

Thanks for the comments. Here's the chest emblem I made of foam attached with E6000 glue. I used a template from a sub dye shirt since the logo was accurate. I made groove details with a ruler and plastic butter knife. Plasti dipped then some liquitex gloss in spots for shine. 89 cents only to produce.

Thanks. I got one from China, no brand name. I had to improve it.

Did trimming, plasti dip, foam padding inside the back of the head so face fits tighter. Really like this one for $55.

I ended up adding more liquitex to the logo. Also like to share the grappling gun repaint I did from the Rubies gun that dropped a while back.

Grap gun is black primer, then chrome spraypaint.

Then onto acrylic dry brushing with black and the wood handle appearance.

Finished with a bit of gloss on the handle.

Thanks guys. Here's final pics for now all geared up.

Had a blast making this one. No major setbacks which kept me rolling to complete it.

Where did you get the suit and co WL if you don't mind me asking? The suit looks kind of baggy. To fix that you could probably buy or make a cheap foam muscle suit to stretch out that fabric. Other than that its pretty cool:)
