Hello,
I am in the process of making a MMPR Green Ranger costume but i can't seem to figure out how people make there own helmets. I assume it's a mold and they use fiberglass, but where would i get the mold?
If anyone could help me out that would be fantastic!
Thank you

It's usually done using a pepakura file which is printed off onto cardstock, folded, and put together. From there, you can build it up to make a mold or just fiberglass it directly. There's some pep files over at rangerprops.com, and probably some good tutorials. I'm not sure though since it requires registration. Here's a couple build threads here that covers pep work.

Hope that helps!

Check out rangerboard.com

They're rough about "newbies" asking this but if you read a whole lot about it, you'll find a nugget of wisdom. Also look for Richard_Strahl on there, he made an awesome helmet and he'll help you out.

Aniki on ebay has a decent Green Ranger helmet. It's one of the better ones out right now. It is also your best bet because turn around time is about one month.

If you have OCD about accuracy, you may want to contact "powerprops" on ebay. She doesn't list any, but her helmet (often referred to as a Jess helmet) is arguably the best one available currently. The wait time for one of hers is quite long. It is worth it though.

Rangerboard is a also a great place to get more info on helmets but you wont find people randomly selling them. Aniki, has a sales thread on rangerboard, if you contact him on there and don't just buy the ebay one listed, he will likely take $25 off of the price.

And if you care about accuracy, I would stay away from helmets made by model4hobby, roguetreasurechest, and tjhappytoy. Their helmets are innacurate.

If your budget is tight then pepakura is also an alternative. I believe there are three pep versions.
