Documentary project in the LA area

A friend of mine at the Cal State Long Beach film school was recently introduced to our hobby when we went to the Disneyland costume party and she's interested in making a documentary about costuming, conventions, and the hobby in general. She asked if I could post here to see if any of you, especially those in the LA/Orange county area, would be interested in answering some questions about your history in the hobby, your costumes, convention experiences, and why you do it; and possibly also appear on camera in the documentary. She's particularly in need of some veterans who can offer up a perspective of how the hobby has changed over the years. The project is in the early stages of preproduction, so the more people who can contribute the better. If you'd like to help her with this project, please PM me and I can put you in touch with her. I know my time is limited the next few months unfortunately, but i am sure a lot others can help

At the moment it's still just an idea. She's trying to gather as much info as she can and if/when she comes up with enough to make a solid plan (....script? I'm not a documentary track student, not sure what the proper term is) then she'll start scheduling shooting.

well, I was going to recommend the same thing about focusing on the prop collecting side as well as costuming.....Prop collecting would come in handy, plus you can always bring her by the next prop party......There was a documentary about costume heroes a few years ago, but that focuses on the street people on hollywood blvd..It was pretty good..Sad at the same time to see what they go through and what they do to themselves...

Well, I am planning to costuming (is that the right word?) for the first time at the next comic con...hopefully, i can get my costume done in time...
