Doctor Who Tennant suit fabric reweave

breach?

The Collar Looks just about perfect! I goofed with my sonic pocket request...should have asked for 2" hidden pocket, silly me!

When I get the fully on pictures they will show lots of the details I think :)

Hidden pocket?

By the breach I mean that issue you wanted them to straighten out regarding the lapel's distance from the top button and the crispness of the fold.

Either way, the collar itself looks dead on in the pictures. If mine turns out as well as yours I don't think I'll ever have to order another suit.

Can anyone tell me what it's like, ordering from Baron? I mean, if you supply your measurements and say "I want that Doctor Who suit", is that it, or do you need to remind them on the specific details, like the lapel folding issue? How good are they with accuracy, is my question I suppose. Although they must be pretty darn good at it, considering the evidence (I'm just paranoid!).

Yep. Still not dark enough, but I can give you an approximate dye bath to get to the right color, as I've seen the real swatches since I dyed mine.

Does anyone know when/why Magnoli DOUBLED the price of this fabric? I just went to his site to finally order some, only to find that the price for 4 yards is now $240!
I just read through the whole thread and didn't see anything about the $30 being a temporary price or an RPF promo or anything. I just feel like a heads-up that the price was going to be jacked up so high would have been nice, even if just here in the thread. Now it's out of my price range.

You'll probably want to talk to Magnoli about that, I don't think anyone else knew it was coming.

Probably due to the reweaving of the fabric...I imagine that part is the most expensive part of the entire deal! I was shocked too when I read $60 per yard...And my wife was like "HELL NO you ain't buying an ounce of that" LOL

As I understand it, costs got pretty high when the first batch of fabric went missing. On top of that, selling fabric to be mailed directly to his competitor wasn't something he really wanted to do. I didn't even think he would offer the fabric for sale this long. A price increase is a step above removing it completely.

That too...I can understand his sentiments. However for those like me who would like to make their own suit...well, for me at least it's an inconvenience.

I agree, although I'm REALLY glad I got 10 yards right away.

Yeah, unfortunately working at close to minimum wage has killed my dreams of actually being able to afford stuff like this fabric. I would LOVE to get my hands on at least 5 yards...but that's $300 plus shipping...and I'm pretty sure my wife would absolutely die of a heartattack if I were to perchase that much fabric at that price :(

You sir are very lucky and I tip my hat off to you!

While this development sucks for the Ten costumers on a budget, I can totally see why Magnoli would do this for all the factors listed. I think it's cool one can even still buy this fabric by the yard rather than being forced to buy it as a finished garment like the folks who make the Harris Series 5 "Angels" Tweed jackets. At the moment it' the best you'll get short of dilligently and patiently waiting it out on ebay for 5-6 pairs of the GAP trousers.

This is entirely true. I just hope Indy decides to have an RPF Sale in the near future ;)
