Done / Completed Doctor Who Machined Classic Sonic Kits/Completed Units

Re: Doctor Who Machined Classic Sonic Pertwee/Baker/Davison Kit

If everybody likes how this is looking, I'll likely be asking for payments soon so that the run can begin.

If anybody has any advice or comments, please feel free to post, and I'll delay the run so that everything can be addressed.

I hate it, horrible. One 4th Baker please. lol

Re: Doctor Who Machined Classic Sonic Pertwee/Baker/Davison Kit

xD

So I've arranged for the shorter handle slot, and I've added the spacer to the kit. I'll probably make the Sale post within a few hours.
This is what the pricing looks like:
Pertwee: 85
Baker: 90
Davison: 90

Completed sonics:
Pertwee: 125
Baker: 110
Davison: 110

Shipping is ten dollars for domestic, 17 for international.
I'm currently working on build instructions that I will post on a different thread.

Re: Doctor Who Machined Classic Sonic Pertwee/Baker/Davison Kit

I also forgot to say that I'll be spray painting the completed sonics. The prototype only has some acrylic paint slapped on it with a stick so that I could try and replicate that 1960s prop-shop look for myself. The ones that'll be sent out will be much more clean and more uniform, unless it is customized.

Re: Doctor Who Machined Classic Sonic Pertwee/Baker/Davison Kit

Well, I was debating getting 2, 1 Pertwee 1 baker - but now I'm debating three...

Does anyone have a good simple painting reference picture of the paint schemes for all 3?

Re: Doctor Who Machined Classic Sonic Pertwee/Baker/Davison Kit

Well, this is a nice photo by Straker illustrating all of the classic screwdrivers and Tardis Keys. Note that these are Russrep's, not the ones that I'm producing, but they illustrate the color schemes quite well.
However, I'll only be offering the three screwdrivers that are in the center.
I believe Tardis Keys can be bought from Mooncrest Models, who is based in the UK.

Re: Doctor Who Machined Classic Sonic Pertwee/Baker/Davison Kit

I don't mean to sound pushy or anything, but could we get a head shot of the emitter within the halo? (Both sides) I think the size might be a bit off, but it's hard to tell from the images you provided.
(Also, now that I know when they'll come in i'm debating getting all three. :p)

Re: Doctor Who Machined Classic Sonic Pertwee/Baker/Davison Kit

That piece is 1cm in Diameter, and 17.5mm tall. It is definitely smaller in diameter than the magnet, that much is clear when you look at the screencaps.

Re: Doctor Who Machined Classic Sonic Pertwee/Baker/Davison Kit

Right. I know it should be smaller than the magnet, but looking at the last picture you posted something just looks...Off about it, either the emitter looks to small or the halo looks too big. I was wondering if we could get a clearer shot of the emitter in the halo so I can directly compare it to the screen caps I linked.

Re: Doctor Who Machined Classic Sonic Pertwee/Baker/Davison Kit

I based the Bullet off of this shot, Which is extremely clear compared to the other low resolution photos presented in that thread. I'm not sure what you see, but I will be re sizing the Halo structure in general, since the shop must have used an outdated model when they produced the Aluminum Ring instead of the Brass one.(It doesn't match my most recently updated drawings).

Re: Doctor Who Machined Classic Sonic Pertwee/Baker/Davison Kit

...Looks like the link's not working.
There might be something wrong with your browser, since it seems to be working for me. Its getting late here so I'll probably be fixing it tomorrow.

Anyway, its the 6th screencap down.

Re: Doctor Who Machined Classic Sonic Pertwee/Baker/Davison Kit

Comparing your full shot of the Sonic to this cap (http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net...ial_ivy.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20141028214934), to my eyes at least, it looks like your emitter head is a little bit small. I think this might be due to the your emitter being shaped less dome like and more like an actual bullet.

Also, this thread here(http://tardisbuilders.com/index.php?topic=3130.0;all) shows off a good look at the back of the emitter without the magnet and you can really see that the diameter gets quite wide. (This is of course assuming that there was only one emitter from the Pertwee to Davison era which is uncertain)

I'm assuming this is the picture your are referring to.

I can't see the hyperlink that you've tried to use in your sentence. I get a 404 error.
To be completely honest with you, if you think my emitter head is small, you're welcome to measure all of the screen caps and average them together. I had excluded the ones where the cap is too low of a resolution to see clearly. Then, I scaled them up, measured them, and averaged them together. If you think it is small, please scale the piece and tell me what your measurement is. We can compare them. Otherwise I truly don't know what you are referring to, and I'm not sure what you'd like me to do about that. I've changed the shape of the previous bullet, but without any numbers, I don't know what you mean by too small or too big.

As for the extending halo assembly, I have it disassembled now so that I can build it up as a cleaner version. I'll post some photos on the weekend.

Re: Doctor Who Machined Classic Sonic Pertwee/Baker/Davison Kit

What I mean, is that when I compare the pictures you have provided with the screen caps it looks (To my eyes) like the diameter of the emitter is about 1-2 millimeters too small. I The reason I think it's too small is from what I can see in the build pictures your emitter straightens out (Like a bullet) while I believe that the emitter on prop has a very small area in which it straightens out sort of like a dome
