At this point I'm not sure if there will be a next run or if there will, when. Shapeways was sorely disappointing this time around and unless they get their act together, I'll have to find another option for 3d printing :-/

Just got this email from Shapeways regarding the order:

Here at Shapeways, we try to be as open and upfront with our community as possible, so we wanted to let you know as soon as we were able. Each and every product is made to order at Shapeways, so sometimes we experience delays during the complex 3D printing process. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and are doing everything we can to get your order out as soon as possible.

Your new expected ship date is between Thursday, April 9, and Tuesday, April 14. Once your order does ship, you'll receive an email with your tracking number.

So at least we have some idea of when these will ship out...

I had one or two chime in that they'd be interested in the price if five or more signed up but there weren't enough people to warrant it :-/ With the way things are with my work right now, it's probably for the best. We just got a huge new client and they have a never ending slew of projects coming my way, plus the other clients we already had. No complaints, just super busy!

Indeed! It can just be mentally frustrating. Every new project is a whole new set of challenges which I do like about the job but when I get insane designs with lots of organic shapes and funky features, I have to wrap my brain around how everything goes together before I can even start modeling. And anticipating how long it will take to finish is part of the deal so I really have to know what I'm getting into on each one haha.

I just got an email saying Shapeways has fixed their technical issues, whatever they were, so hopefully that means the remaining two models will finish printing soon and will ship within a few days.
