Doc's foam/fiberglass work + Mark 42 painted pieces

Re: Doc's foam work + The last foam painting method you will ever need.

amazing work guys. really impressed by the armors. can't believe foam can look this good. can we have the "current/ up to date" order of operations for coating the foam? somewhere back the liquid tape stuff came into play, where does it fit in with the rest of the process? does it replace, exclude any of the other materials?

In the spirit of this thread, I have to share the most amazing glue I'm now using to glue my suits together. It's Weldwood by DAP. Pics are of the bottle and a couple pieces of the new Iron Patriot MK 4 I'm building.

Base, does that glue require application on both sides to be joined and also does it need dry time before you bond it mate?.....clean work as always on the Patriot armor, looking forward to some paint on that

Hey, don't want to clutter up Doc's thread here, so head over to my thread (link in my signature) and I'll get you tips on what I'm doing as well as the new MK 4 Patriot paint job (technique ala DocHoliday78!)

As for the glue method, it's simple. Put glue on both surfaces, wait 15 minutes, the press together. Make sure it's lined up right or else you're cutting new pieces and trying again!

(GREAT helmet on the MK 42 Doc!)

MK XLII helmet looks great so far. Is this another free hand like the gloves, or is this from someone's files?

No its gimpee's awesome file. And I draw freehand the gloves now just cuz ive done zabanas hand file so many times its tattooed in my brain so its still his design.

Re: Doc's foam work + new piece to my repertiore

Hi Doc, how long do you typically wait after the last step of your painting technique to start handling and wearing the armor.

HEY DOC!
I've been way too busy to build in the last year, but thinking about starting something up by the end of summer. Hopefully it actually happens, I have some ideas :) Just wanted to drop in to give you a shout and remind you that your work is STILL so bada$$ and creative. I'm glad to return to see you still blowing people's minds as usual dude. Keep it up!
