As Johnny Littlejohn would say,
"I'll be Superamalgamated!"
This is awesome work, my good man...you definitely do Clark Savage, Jr. justice with your handiwork! Alas, at my current size, I'm not convincing enough to pull off a good Doc (read: fat), but one day I hope to try, and maybe do him as well as you have.
Like yourself, I began my interest in sci-fi and fantasy with the original Trek (I got to see them in initial broadcast, lol), and then in the early 70's, I discovered Doc, when my best friend brought a Bantam issue to school...after that, I was hooked completely, reading every story and making it my passion to collect every Bantam version I could find (the iconic widow's peak has grown on me), as well as any bookcover that featured art by James Bama, Bob Larkin, Fred Pfeiffer, et. al. that I could lay my hands on.
Unfortunately, for want of storage space (read: married), I've since divested myself of all those books, but I kept the full Doc series...it has a place of honor in my living room bookcase!
Anyway..enough about me...here's hoping that a renewed interest in Doc will be spurred on by the 80th Anniversary this year; I keep hoping that this guy:
...will take up the Doc mantle in the future, now that he's an actor once again (yeah, I know he's old, but he's my first choice, lol)!
