I missed the opportunity to pick up one of the commercially available boxes we found in the old thread. I would like to try my hand at making my own box. Can't be too hard with the right brass hardware and wood working tools, me thinks.

Does anyone who bought one feel like taking a tape measure to their box and throwing some dimensions my way? ndalby, ortiz34, anybody? I'd be grateful... ;) :)

+2 I didn't know anybody got the chance to buy one. I have no woodworking skills, but it couldn't hurt to know for when I eventually teach myself.

I'm thinking I may just get my hands on some blood slides and reverse engineer the box outward from them and make the card insert on illustrator.

I'd really like to know if the crenelated inserts that hold the slides in place were wood or plastic on the original. In other words, should I make them myself or have them professionally cut from plastic sheet?

Andy, did you ever have any luck with this? I'd love to get my hands on some dimensions and proper fittings..

Between Dexter and Supernatural, I've got alot props to make! lol

A standard 50 single slide box is Size: 76mmx26mm, however, this is only for single slides, so if you wanted to do double slides as in Dexter you'd have to add mm to it and I think each slide is 1mm, which would be 1mm x 50 = 50mm additional in length.
