I have to agree with you. The original story mentioned the odds quote in the subtitle but they never mentioned a limited edition. Also the listing details on the shop site made no rid it either. Unlike the Blade of Ochi of Bestoon witch was listed on the shop site with the information of it being limited to 3000.

Like many others, I have seen the stories stating it as limited but I find it odd that neither the official store and starwars.com did not mention it. I wonder if someone miss interpreted the subtitle as a LE and the error was repeated in other stories.

I guess we will know if they pop back up.

I do have to say that I got sucked in based on that odds quote, not that I'm disappointed in anyway that I bought one. But in retrospect that is a low number for all of disney customers for such a mass appeal SW item at a mass appeal price point. If some marketing person had the foresight that the quote could imply limited edition thus adding to a release burst of buying, Genius!

anyone based in the UK have any info on the availability of the c-3po head?
i saw on the UK shopdisney site that its out of stock. when i asked customer service for details of its release, i was told that it was made available in late august. can anyone confirm the accuracy of this?

But are they sold out in the parks or just online? As far as I’m aware, the head is still readily available in the parks. At least, I think it is. I saw a picture a couple of days ago showing that they were still available.

I believe so. But I don’t know that for a fact until I go next week or if someone from a Facebook group post a video on in stock items.

Now, I maybe wrong, and I often am, but didn’t the Disney store do very limited items in the past that are no longer available like the Stormtrooper blu tooth com link, the Ice Cream maker safe and the T-16? It seems they make limited runs then they don’t offer them again. Could 3po’s head be one of them?

I would define a Limited Edition as an item that has a predetermined number to be produced in initial and only run and will not go back into production.

Those items you listed are not limited production runs, those are park items that were and I believe still are available in the parks. In fact the comlink was first made for the parks back in 2016 and was much more expensive at the time. A lot of times the website will offer such items online when stock is ample and they want to move product. Sometimes to promote events like May the Fourth. The reasons a park item shows up on line varies.

This new line of products they have developed in the black packaging may be produced and marketed for both parks and websites and not originally intended at park exclude items.

So to end this ramble, just because the website only offers items for a short time, it doesn’t make it a limited edition.

I’ve not seen that number anywhere. I don’t think it’s on the box either…

To discuss even further. I checked out all the box images on the web and there is no LE designation. Nor is there anything noted on store displays, the web store listing or the official site announcement.

This new product has had made LE items recently like the Blade of Ochi but they clearly noted it on the product listing on line and clearly marked on the box…

As stated, no such verbiage is listed on the C-3PO box.

I am pretty sure that’s just a standard blurb that accompanies the SOLD OUT status. Note that it is the same for what we know to be an actual LE item. But keep the faith.
