Welp, just bought one on eBay at 2X the price, no other choice it seems.

Yeah I get the reference, but I haven’t seen anything anywhere that confirms that as the limited number available.
I suspect some who were on the fence and missed out are pretty upset. Or those who decided against it initially then changed their mind are out as well.

I have to agree with you. The original story mentioned the odds quote in the subtitle but they never mentioned a limited edition. Also the listing details on the shop site made no rid it either. Unlike the Blade of Ochi of Bestoon witch was listed on the shop site with the information of it being limited to 3000.
Like many others, I have seen the stories stating it as limited but I find it odd that neither the official store and starwars.com did not mention it. I wonder if someone miss interpreted the subtitle as a LE and the error was repeated in other stories.
I guess we will know if they pop back up.

Just because an item is sold out, doesn’t make it limited, it can just mean it is out of stock of it initial shipment. You never heard of Cabbage Patch Kids, Furbies, Tickle Me Elmo?
It might very well be limited, I am just saying there is missing information that makes that questionable.
Now, I maybe wrong, and I often am, but didn’t the Disney store do very limited items in the past that are no longer available like the Stormtrooper blu tooth com link, the Ice Cream maker safe and the T-16? It seems they make limited runs then they don’t offer them again. Could 3po’s head be one of them?

But are they sold out in the parks or just online? As far as I’m aware, the head is still readily available in the parks. At least, I think it is. I saw a picture a couple of days ago showing that they were still available.
