They had previously announced May 20th for Florida, now it's official that Star Tours II will re-open on June 3rd in Anaheim (alongside the new Little Mermaid ride in California adventure).

They aren't rebuilding the park for a new roller coaster!
This is more of an upgrade as I understand it. New files for the video graphics, the motion to match and updated set pieces.

To this day whenever I go to DL, Star Tours still gives me the chills. Closest thing any of us will have to experiencing the Star Wars universe "for real". I look forward to this update. Not sure if I'll be there opening day, but Ima try!

I could've sworn I read that they were replacing the motion simulators. But it's a new "film" and it's in Disney 3d.

I think rides can be good without the shake and spin machine, look at Universals MiB or Jurassic Park no crappy machine, just fun. I wish Disney would do a good 20k leagues ride

It will be an exciting, wonderful, sit in a box with 3D glasses and much needed updated CGI graphics, with over 50+ different scenarios, most excellent ride!!!!!!!!

Soft openings at Disneyland rumored to happen two weeks out from official opening!!! It is good to be a southern California resident with an Annual Pass!

I'll let you guys know how it is!

By the way we need to attend the 7th Annual UnOfficial Star Wars Day at Disneyland!!!

We were at Disneyland for the monsoon season (3/21-3/23/2011). :lol

Grabbed some iphone pics of the Star Tours model.

Also grabbed some construction pics.

Next day, the building was wrapped.

Denied was kind of the Spring Break theme. Star Tours was renovating, and then we zipped on down to Legoland to find out their new Star Wars exhibit is still under wraps. Oh and it snowed on the grapevine. Crazy week.

That looks totally fake to me. For one, it's the same interior as a previous, for another, Jar Jar isn't the pilot. They redesigned the pilot droid, and they already leaked that C3PO actually becomes the pilot.

There's also no mention of Jake Lloyd anywhere in any press release, much less using EP1 footage, and there's nothing in that picture that could provide the light on Jar Jar...that's a total photoshop job.

And finally, none of the promo pictures they've released so far have had that watermark.

Yeah, you're right, that is a stock image of Jar-Jar, I was taken in by the reflection.
