My son and I just watched this tonight. Ive seen this film so many times since I was a kid that all the terrible parts just breeze by me. But tonight, when the 3 villains first land on earth, Ursa picks up a snake and it BITES HER! A freaking Kryptonian! Keep in mind, this never occurred to me. But when that scene was over, my son silently turns his head and looks at me. Believe it or not, this has never occurred to me but the second my son looked at me, I knew! I just kept looking at the screen and I said, “I don’t know.” He turned toward the screen and it was never spoken of again.

My question…WHY?!

I guess you have to look at it as it was just the act of something actually trying to hurt her that shocked her. Not that she was actually hurt from it.

Wait a minute…so you’re telling me that the man who made Superman III did something stupid in his version of Superman II?

No way.

I guess you have to look at it as it was just the act of something actually trying to hurt her that shocked her. Not that she was actually hurt from it.
That’s how I took it. I never thought it actually hurt her, it was just the shock of the moment.

Remember, at that time, they didn’t realize the power they held on this new planet. In their minds they were still vulnerable. When it bit, she reacted as any person would, by being startled. It was at that moment she started to learn what she was capable of doing with her powers. It’s not like they showed her hand with two fang marks, or blood coming out, and it’s not like she got sick from venom. lol

Maybe they weren’t exposed to the radiation of our yellow sun long enough for their “Man of Steel” characteristics to have fully developed yet.

In Universe, the trio were not affected by the limited gravitational pull of the moon. Why? They would still be experiencing 1/6 of Earth's gravitional pull, wether human or Kryptonian.

Also, these Kryptonians IMMEDIATELY UNDERSTAND/SPEAK ENGLISH. How???? Why are they not speaking Kryptonian jibberish to those humans they encounter? I know that many sci-fi and fantasy films are guilty of this, you just have to "get over it"... but I can't, befause OTHER properties have gone through the trouble to explain it, at least to some degree (universal translator, Babel fish, etc)

Where did Lois have her other clothes to take to the Fortress of Solitude for her date night with Supes? She gets her "things" together in the hotel once Clark reveals his identity, but then we see them flying, and Lois DOESN'T have a suitcase (a deleted scene shows her pulling her entire full length nightgown out of her purse... so Lois "knew" they were going to get busy that night?!)

And when they LEAVE the Fortress, where did their new clothes come from? Or the car they were driving to the diner? In fact, now that Clark is human, how did they LEAVE the Fortress together, walking miles through the snow?!

When Clark becomes human, the chamber shows him to be in some degree of pain. But when he "tricks" the 3 villains by radiating the Fortress itself while he is protetced in the chamber, they show NO signs of distress. Then, when they are de-powered:
1) Supes crushes Zod's hand, hurls him 100 feet across the Fortress into a wall, which he slides down into a cavern.
2) Non tries to fly, and falls face first down the cavern
3) Lois punches Ursa and knows her down the cavern (your hear Ursa scream for several seconds before she hits bottom)

SO... all 3 are now DEAD. And Supes and Lois DON'T RESPOND ONE LICK. They actively helped to kill (2) of the villains. And I don't by the: "Well, the 3 villains were reset back to their Kryptonian non-super state, which still may be several times more stong than a human" because Lois just punched Ursa and knocked her down!

(Yes, I know a deleted scene shows the Arctic Law Enforcement at the Fortress of Solitude later "arresting" the villains, but they are STANDING and WALKING without any sign of injury. It was deleted for a reason.)

And why don't Supes and Lois continue their relationship as Clark and Lois? When Supes drops Lois back at her apartment, she's crying and upset. Supes/Calrk already has an apratment and is still working at the Daily Planet, so there's no reason he couldn't be Lois' "boyfriend" in front of everyone. But no, he memory wipes her with a kiss... for her own good? For her own safety? What's the difference now? I can't figure out why they "broke up" so quickly after the Fortress of Solitude.

Also, let's not forget, because it slips by so quickly in the deleted scene...but Lex KNOWS Clark Kent is Superman. The "Smallville Strongboy"! Remember, Martha is still alive, half of Clark's salary gets sent to her on a weekly basis. The entire world would descend on her and Smallville once Lex let the cat out of the bag. All the more reason for Supe-Baby to do the spinney thing around the Earth...
