One and done for me, like most of the sequels. Didn't hate it. Just Meh. Glad I did not pay to see it in the theater.
At the current price of admission, I'd be pissed at the cost charged for that.
Oddly I find myself repeatedly watching Alien for some reason and I can't quite put my finger on it;)

That Ash/Rook CGI was just sooooooooooooooooo Bad. I'd be embarrassed with it and about the cost to create it.

It was shockingly, hilariously, embarrassingly bad.

I just do not understand the need for extensive call backs of the Alien plot. The good special effects did include the unique idea of trying to dodge the gauntlet alien blood droplets during zero gravity. Alien movies with Lt. Ripley had great supporting actors that you got invested in. Even Prometheus and Covenant had good supporting actors and a concept that the common elements of the universe have the ability of “seeding” life. Romulus characters might of tried hard, but the actors were not developed. Plagiarism focus may have prevented it.

Plagiarism focus?

I liked most of the Romulus cast. Kay got a raw deal but I'd say the rest of them were well rounded people. Navarro only had like 20 minutes screen time and even then I'd argue she had as much going on personality wise as Kane in the first movie.

Mentioned it in the other Romulus thread but Rook really took me out of it. Looked terrible and I wish they'd just put a half melted cheap rubber mask on a barely functional robot puppet, would have fit the look of the movie so much better. Even putting aside the dubious idea of that character existing - wasn't Ash meant to be an infiltrator? Why would there be multiple copies of him walking around, that's a security liability lol
