That fur does look cool! Maybe they are shriveled Ewoks?

I'm gathering up stuff for my Jawa now, so I might do that too.

BTW, what diameter hemis should you use for the eyes?

Yes, I am still in the gathering stage, and that is very cool, maybe I'll gather some fur as well. Here kitty kitty...
Oh and the eyes look indented to me they kinda look flat in the center, not like the usual hemis.

Wampa, I have a question about the graflite, well 2 actually.
1 Do you actually see it in the movie
2 Any idea what it is supposed to be?Just a beatin club or what?
Oh and one more question, is it the same one used for a Holiday special?

1 yes, watch the scene where they sell R5.
2 a cool accessory for the costume... i doubt the designer even thought about it.

3 could be...who knows?

Wow, that is cool a furry Jawa face. I used a piece of leather under the wraps similar to the Tusken Raiders. I read somewhere that they might be related to each other. I used the large sized figure as a reference. I really like the way it looks. Sometimes film accurate is boring in my opinion.

Perhaps the mystery of theses creatures is what makes them so cool.
Here are some pictures of mine before I finished (sorry for the large size):
The head- paper mache wrapped in cloth with a leather face. I used 1.5" acrylic hemispheres from an FX supply shop.

Thanks! I was about to order 1 1/8" dia. hemis!

Are there any holsters that you can buy? I really can't make one (well I could but I'd have to waste time figure out how to work with leather). I've already got a bandoleer ordered.

check out hardware stores... i found one that was a pretty good match for the one the Jawa with the Graflite wears in the electrical section at Home depot. they no longer carry them, but maybe Lowes or locals. Just look at all sorts of tool holsters and you'll find somethin.

for the strap you can rivet together some old wide belts (stained up a bit, naturally) or look for a plain 2.5-3 inch wide tool belt.

You really shouldn't post that just incase someone here is bidding on it. They might not appreciate the publicity.

Unless it has already ended, then go right ahead. Just thought I'd let ya know.

Water and weather.

Seriously one way is to take some steel wool, soak it and let it sit on a piece of metal or something to dry when it dries up and gets rusty you can take the powdery rust and apply it to the flash with some clear dull coat.

Has anyone done the Jawa with it's feet showing, but found a way to do the feet without buying boots? I thought of possibly getting a piece of wood and making half of the foot, up to the ankle, and then Dremeling it into a boot shape, then wrapping it. That way you would still see feet poking out, but the robes would cover up the fact that there are no boots.

Also I would like to do mine with a an on/off switch (one with a dial on it) for the eyes. I can wire up the switch, but how would I go about hooking the eye/bulbs to it. And is it better to a whole flashlight for each eye, or just gut some flashlights and wire the bulbs up?

Finally, has anyone found a good (cheap) way to put a sound module in it so he would yell "Utinni!" or something?
