Quick note for Aussie members. I feared Federal 'you can't have cool stuff' rules might prevent these going on sale here, but they came in on Thursday at local TRU stores, priced at $36.

I grabbed two, one for me and one for my son. Absolutely great value. Goes together in fifteen minutes and looks good enough to impress the hell out of visitors right out of the box. Mine'll be getting the full treatment in due course, though.

The one in the TRU kit is 5" from snout to crown and 4 1/2" from chin to rear jaw, so it looks like it should fit well. Be sure to take pics of it on the kit when you get it. I'm happy with every inch of that kit except the head. I may have to get one of these as well if it matches up correctly.

Woah, neat site. They have some really awesome stuff. I just wish there was an option to order the pieces without the custom framing and matting. $70 for a teeny resin Trepanation Knife is far more than I'm willing to spend.

I got the new T-rex head last night.

It is about 3/8-7/16" longer, 1/4-3/16" taller. and about 1/4" wider then the TRU head skull.The size difference atributes to a better look and more accurate sculpt then the TRU skull.
I don't think it is anything too big to make it look off scale.
I will start to work on the skeleton soon and see how the head looks.
It will take some destroying of the fine detail of the skull inside to get it too work however.
It is not too heavy as is it made of resin, but I may have to use prop rods. If I have too, I will end up doing a running pose to make most use of the prop rods.
