My MR is working fine but has the blotchy domes. (saving grace is when lights are on you can't tell) I really have been putting off frosting them over to hide it, now we know the original had orange frosted so I guess I should look into that.
Hey be cool. It's a replica not a life saving device. Glad your MR is doing fine but with others they are having problems. Whats wrong with stating that? I feel bad for those people and while its not the end of the world they spent hard earn monies on that replica. But bringing that up on a board discussing the justifications for not buying or buying the TOMY is valid on thread like this. Cool your panties.
I thought you were gonna keep it? You were talking about a stand replacement a few days ago. I guess you can look into building the polar lights. Doubtful we will see anymore pre-builds for a very very long time.Well, I finally did it! I cancelled my order. Don't have let that bother me anymore!
Same. The fact that it's diecast alone is enough for me...lolNot cancelling mine. Yeah it's a bummer about the plugs and stand but am going to enjoy it for what it is !
Here, they assemble the die cast as if it is a big model.
Now the hardest part of making the Enterprise is the join between the nacelles, the struts, and the secondary hull.
Trying to line cones and struts is difficult.
Now...imagine I had a perfect 33 inch Enterprise...and I cut the forward part of the nacelles and the secondary off...just ahead of the "A" frame.
I make a second cut from port-to-starboard just **behind**the nacelle pylons.
What does that leave me?
A bracket...in the shape of a "V" with two circles stop the V and a fat circle at the bottom.
That CAN be cast as one piece...so that the join of secondary hull, struts, and nacelles---are PART of the mold...not something you have to glue.
Then the front and back of the nacelles can be screwed in. Secondary hull similarly.
The dorsal slides into the neck...is screwed in...the screws covered by snap-in impulse bulge.
The lower half of the dorsal slides in to the secondary hull front--that snaps into the one-piece V frame (A frame).
No screws visible.
Not that it makes me entirely whole, as I'm out a year's worth of CC interest.mine appeared 3 days later.
Only if you tie them in a knot firstI live in a hot area. If you cool your panties in say a freezer, does that help with the heat?![]()

I'm not out of the game yet!
That's terrible! Not that it makes me entirely whole, as I'm out a year's worth of CC interest.

Agreed. I paid both mine off the week I ordered.I am not sure who needs to hear this, but do not carry a Credit Card balance if it can be avoided. In this case, its a luxury item, so it can be avoided. As cool as this model is.. it is probably NOT worth paying interest to a Credit Card company to obtain. Pay off your credit card every month and you will be happier.
Kept one order for me.How so? You cancelled....
Oh....lolKept one order for me
Yes, I received mine on 9/22.Anyone who asked to cancel actually see the refund on their CC yet? Still waiting here.
I used to be terribly in debt because of my animation cel collection and a DeLorean that always needed repairs. So much stress! Sold the car and paid off my debts before I got married so I didn't carry that mess into her life.
I always pay cash, now. I don't have an MR Enterprise for that exact reason, because I did want one! They are beautiful!
DeLorean's are actually nice cars and fun to drive, it was just beyond my means to keep and fix up. I'm not someone who can afford a second car just for fun.So that means you still have the Cel collection I hopeUnlike a Car that is always a yearly cost to own (And DeLoreans had a reputation for unreliability up thre with MGs ( Might Gos)) ...the right Cels can make a fine investment as well as bringing a wonderful work of art into your life ( still probably not worth taking on debt for) If you still have them, do you display them or keep them under lock and key?
