Die Cast Lighted 1/350th TOS Enterprise (TOMY crowd funded)

If they ever decide to do a refit…I agree highly unlikely at this point, but you never know…the price will surely not be the same. I was shocked when they offered the TOS Enterprise at 600 which is pretty insane. But if the price for a refit could be done for 900-1200 I’d definitely be into buying. Even at 1500.

But it’s only a dream now. I can hope though.
On a crowdfund? Tomy has proven they can’t be trusted to deliver what was promised on a crowdfunded offering. I don’t understand why anyone would bet on them again.

I doubt they would ever do diecast again though. So that 900-1200 for plastic would not appeal to me....lol

LOL Why not!!!??? Factory entertainment is selling their ships in Plastic for 15 grand and more depending on the ship! I would buy a plastic built model for 900-1200! That's a steal compared to what others have offered! : )

Because in the end they did deliver a product. While it wasn't what was promised, it was delivered as promised, for a relatively cheap price at 599 with free shipping. Plus the ship looks pretty damn nice warts and all. Sure it isn't perfect but it sure looks great based on the videos that were posted and the owners love them.

So much better than other companies like Master Replicas (second incarnation), EFX, Chronicle collectibles, Anovos, etc etc. Heck my uncle lost 800 bucks from Anovos from products never delivered! And we know what happened to Eaglemoss! Thankfully their projects were picked up by other companies. Just to many companies to mention.

TOMY is a big company with a long history and while they did not deliver ALL THEIR PROMISES, THEY DID DELIVER. If they learned from their mistakes I would definitely take a chance again especially at the right price.

The chance to get a 1/350 refit, possibly all die cast, at a good fair price, would be to good to pass up.

Factory Entertainment is a total rip off....lol

I don't see what they are offering that hasn't been offered before. At any rate I would not pay $1000 for a plastic model. I would just do it myself. The diecast is what drew me to the Tomy.

I almost bought the Master Replicas Enterprise when it was offered, but after it was delivered I couldn't swallow $1200 for it so I returned it. I'm familiar with TOMY, as I have a large collection of Tomy Pocket cars from the 70's. Some are older than my wife!
I was also familiar with ERTL in Dyersville, Iowa. Those 2 factors, and the price of $600 was enough to convince me. Even with it's flaws, it's still a fine die-cast of the Enterprise! Here's a few of my Pocket cars from the 70's.

Wow really? returned it? I guess 1200 was a pretty penny back then...what 2007? Do you regret it all? I still love the MR Enterprise. I don't think it's perfect but it is a very very nice piece.

No regrets. I was raising a family at the time. That's why I jumped on the TOMY. There may never be another 1/350 TOS Enterprise in the future, much less in diecast!

Glad you had no regrets! : ) Family is way more important!!

Hope you will be happy with the TOMY!!! I am looking forward to getting mine!

I thought everyone had canceled because Tomy are so terrible, now we look forward to them

I'm just kidding of course!

Haha. The irony huh?

We are the ones who reluctantly remained. Lol.....I was contemplating returning it. I was pissed like everyone else. But over the course of a month I calmed down. Especially after seeing videos and telling myself it's a huge diecast model for only $600. It's still all here to see in this thread. All those grieve stages. Lol ....
The ones who cancelled were too hasty imo and didn't give themselves time to absorb it and reason it out. I don't see any of the cancelled people posting anymore. I think there was one regret and he asked if he could un-cancel...lol
