Die Cast Lighted 1/350th TOS Enterprise (TOMY crowd funded)

The seams are always going to be there on a mass produced ‘toy’. On Diecast I don’t think there is any way to avoid it. Tomy appears to be doing their best and from what I see so far way better than the TOS. I understood the halving of parts, what I thought was terrible was the nacelle pylons. I think some of the panel lines on the refit will allow for better options than screw hole plugs which also I couldn’t live with. The one that sticks out to me on the refit is the center of the top saucer, hopefully they can tighten the tolerances. I have been working on seems and flush windows and perfecting sensor strips on my refit for at least 2 years off and on. It’s a sickness. I may die before it is finished! Hahahaha

Maybe since the thread has TOS in the title, he’s talking about the TOS one? I thought the refit prototype looks pretty darn good. They mentioned that it’s about 80% accurate, and are striving for the other 20%

Yeah most of it looks really good, although I agree with your thoughts on the circular seam surrounding the bridge. It stands out pretty prominently and hopefully they can eliminate thr need for that seam since there looks to be a seam on the top of the saucer rim anyways

The TOMY rep on their FB page said the numbers dropping are from the denied cards. It’s a glitch they’re working on.

Yeah. I went with TOS D7, but I know I'm in the minority, I predict that Enterprise D will win.

I chose the D7 as well. But I suspect the D will win out. Which is not a bad thing. I would get that. But I really want a D7.

The D7 doesn't really do it for me as much but if they offered the Klingon K'Tinga from TMP I would probably have chosen it over the Enterprise D. I absolutely love that ship.

I chose the reliant because it would make a hell of a diorama with the tmp enterprise; plus Tomy has likely perfected the Aztec theme by then (although this one would most likely not be iridescent). Would love a Ktinga too, but a D7 would be great too!

I love the enterprise D but it’s hopefully a forgone conclusion that it’ll be produced in the future anyways, depending on the sales of other sku’s
