Dish. This is a far as I can turn it. It stays in but is still loose feeling.
That one is worse than mine. I have to futz with it to get it started but when I get it in place it will only turn a small amount. Just enough to keep it from falling out.Yep. See this post: Die Cast Lighted 1/350th TOS Enterprise (TOMY crowd funded)
Wonder what is support the ship. Is it some kind of rubber? It looks molded to the contours of the ship. Not sure if I like it as a coffee table table piece, but it is a nice table! This guy made a coffee table!

Like I said the first time I did it it took some force and was snug. Make sure the little tabs are lined up properly with indents first - they're not very big and the slots they go into are small too. It's still loose because that square protrusion needs to go under more until it's flush with the hull extensions too. It will be looser and easier to take off next time. You don't want it to be too loose anyway.View attachment 1762215

I’m glad you all are so happy with the product, I could not deal with those gaps/seems. I guess it’s the builder in me, I obsess over the fit and finish on my Trek starships and no seem is worse for getting right than one on a cylinder. I love the coffee table!
Mine looks similar to that too. Honestly, I didn't really notice until I lit mine up again in the dark. So, thanks a lot for pointing that out and making me fixate on another issue. With lights on. I think I'll call Tomy tomorrow and send them the pics. See what they say. I'll probably open the other one to inspect it just in case. View attachment 1762237Thanks for everyone's replies on this.
Yeah, I looked on mine and I have the same thing. And I too now have something new to be irritated with. But then I close my eyes and say to myself " it was $600, and apparently worth 2-4 times that warts and all. Maybe I should just enjoy it for what it is." and the irritation subsides.Mine looks similar to that too. Honestly, I didn't really notice until I lit mine up again in the dark. Most (all?) of the ones I've seen on YouTube have some separation and light bleed too. Just check out the vids where folks have 'em lit up in the dark...
I think your deflector dish is fine too - think you just need to get it seated and lined up with a hard turn.
But hey, I could be totally wrong and it's your model. If you have two just carefully open the other box and check to see if it's similar on both fronts...
They all seem to have some universal and varying "flaws"...

If you're close enough even the best model looks like a hunk of plastic with paint slathered over it, but as you back away it gets better and better looking. These look fine from an appropriate distance.I’m glad you all are so happy with the product, I could not deal with those gaps/seems. Nice! I asked him how he solved the center of gravity issue but he hasn’t replied yet. When I made my fishing line loops I couldn’t find a practical/pleasing way to counter the saucer weight - it wants to tip over. This guy has a lot of guts doing what he just did. He actually suspended his enterprise from the ceiling with 50LB weight wiring. It looks pretty cool especially with the backdrop he created but man I'd be terrified of a drop! LOL Imagine a 40 pound diecast object landing on your head or foot! Yikes!
ooh I'd be interested to hear if he responds back to you! It's pretty crazy what he did but I'll admit it looks really cool! Changing batteries must be a pain though!Nice! The model is pretty balanced. The cg is directly over the stand’s pin locations. I put my Enterprise on a flat surface and it didn’t tip forward at all. The issue could be where you’re placing your fishing lines. If you want the model to hang level, the lines need to be equal distances from the cg.Nice!
