Die Cast Lighted 1/350th TOS Enterprise (TOMY crowd funded)

I'm guessing most have been accounted for now or they are holding the remaining ones in case of exchange......As I said a few pages back there would be a lot of resellers/Trek nerds near there descending on the physical store to grab one. Lol...when people saw what others are willing to pay on eBay for them .......it was game over.

You can ask 1200-1500 bucks for one, but that doesn't mean they're buying...

There you go again with your facts!
Nah just standard legalize that every product runs through their Corporate council. The bottom line it is what it is. Ethically they offered those who wanted out because they had to. Regardless of the promises it is what it is and If your happy great.

Guess he's going to be playing with his a lot!
Wait aren't you the guy who was putting little dead guys on your saucer...lol...;)..

Of course I am not gonna play with it. I'm talking about accidental marks when moving or cleaning etc.

You need stop rubbing it before the genie comes out!

The little rod and cup I can see rubbing the paint off eventually.

I use one of those rechargeable small blowers to clean dust off my displays that aren't under glass. Works great and I don't have to rub or polish them !

Mine has arrived today in the UK after paying an extra $420 (ouch) in shipping and taxes to get it here.

The wife sent me this photo showing that the UK Border Force has opened it to inspect what's inside, so I'm praying they haven't broken anything. Also hoping that there are no major problems with the model because I can't afford to pay that amount again twice to have it returned and then shipped out to me again.

I'll find out in a few hours when I get home.

Weren't they suprised? Looks like the Enterprise infiltrated the border!

Okay, so Tomy is replacing my saucer. As I mentioned earlier the Port bridge light does not work and there are marks on the inside of the bridge dome. They asked for pics, which is fine. They are sending me a label and I will send back just the saucer which I asked for as the rest is perfect.

No complaints. A pain, but I can't ask for more.

I will update when it arrives.

That's great! Good that you can just swap out the saucer!

That's great!!! Now that is customer support right there! Glad the problem is being dealt with! : )

I am relieved to report that mine has made it all the way to the UK (at enormous cost) without any damage, despite the UK Border Force definitely opening up the box and rummaging through it. All the sheets of paper inside are wrecked and scrunched up, but thankfully the model itself has arrived in pristine condition.

There are a couple of extremely minor imperfections, but they're the sort that you'd get on any model and they don't bother me in the least. The only slight concern is that the nacelle rotating pieces make a quiet but obvious grinding sound at a certain point of the rotation (different to their normal quiet hum). At higher speeds it stops, but I'll probably not have them spinning much in case that worsens.

Yes the plug holes are an eyesore up close, but as others have said they're not obvious from a couple of feet away, and for the money I'd say this is amazing.

What is the consensus on the need for the stand under the saucer when the ship is all connected? Are people comfortable never using it? Or are you sticking it under the saucer for most of the time?
