Die Cast Lighted 1/350th TOS Enterprise (TOMY crowd funded)

I'm certain someone has already asked this and I've missed it, but:
1. Is there anywhere I can purchase a pre-painted 1/350 scale core crew to go with the ship? And
2. Has anyone found a way to remove the clear window that goes to the bridge to place said crew into?

Doubtful. You would have to take the entire saucer apart. So the plugs would have to come out. All the screws would have to come.out and then there is the problem of how much stuff has to be removed to get to the bridge. I would leave it alone.

Had to paint my own crew.

I'll reiterate my thoughts and maybe win over a few hearts and minds... all starships after TOS have panels. So plugs/seams are going to be really not nearly as noticeable if they line them up with the natural paneling.

Though I want a 1/18 Galileo shuttlecraft or D7 first, but I expect they will put TOS behind them, IF they go forward.

Question for TOS Enterprise experts.

When looking at the front of the ship dead on.

Are the entire nacelle caps supposed to be slightly above the flat part of the saucer section or are the bottoms of the nacelle caps slightly below the top of saucer?

Tomy ship looks to be slightly below, but blueprints from the 70's show the caps slightly above. In other words they don't dip below the flat part of the saucer at all.

It's hard to tell for in photos and video due to all the angles shown of the ship.

Does this even make sense? LOL.

Side question for brainstorming... I"m not a fan of the clear bridge dome. Nice there is a bridge in there but I really don't need to see it and prefer the studio model appearance. I'd like it to be frosted over but I don't want to make it a permanent change. Something that could be peeled off or something that might conform to the shape if heated and just set on top.

Anything come to mind?

I won't say I'm an expert but 70's blueprints are not great. Sinclair blueprints are the ones you want to look at I believe....

This is the real deal, I did shop it a bit to put in the details that were not on the port side for a pretty picture. Bare in mind camera distance, angles etc.

Depends on the viewing angle. They look fine to me. Look at the model at Smithsonian videos and compare. That will be your best resource...

The master replicas look about the same as the Tomy...

I'm baffled on how that would be handled but interested as well if others have suggestions. That could be cool to have an alternative look. I like the TOMY as is but change is good.

Good stuff. Thanks. Yeah that photo angle is slightly above (as you mentioned). I'm talking about how it looks from direct front.

The Sinclair blueprints do seem to show that the nacelle caps are slightly below the flat part of the saucer from the side view, and slightly touching from the front...

Smithsonian photos from most recent restoration seem to show the nacelle caps slightly above or just touching from a front view. However, those are photos and I've yet to see it in person.

When I was in DC last year, it was closed. Yes, I was bummed...

It sure does depend. LOL. I have looked at Smithsonian photos/video. Tough to be sure as camera angles are all over the place with those and it's hard to tell...
