My thoughts as well. I know the answer if you don't ask.Perhaps not, but maybe they offer you some paint..

I also have one with a tiny paint chip on the starboard nacelle at the bussard collector. Pretty small though. Not worth returning to me. I'll just consider it external battle damage. Can you post a picture? Maybe we can compare battle wounds!
Hi. I know it’s not your post but where exactly did you read this?NOT MY FB POST !
I checked with TOMY engineers that helped design the original model and they said that displaying the Enterprise without the separate saucer display stand support will not damage the model. The two pins on the secondary hull stand are strong enough to support everything by themselves. Though a little wobbly, they have the model balanced just right so that it won’t tip forward without the saucer support. TOMY told me that the stand is made of ABS which I understand is pretty tough.
This might be a stupid question, but the TOS Enterprise can separate it's saucer? For anyone questioning saucer separation I noticed TOMY seems to have followed the Franz Joseph blueprints for the separation point. That made me more comfortable with the design.View attachment 1753475
One of the Trek Forums on FB !Hi. I know it’s not your post but where exactly did you read this?
Yes but it never happened in the TOS. Only STTNG.This might be a stupid question, but the TOS Enterprise can separate it's saucer?
Admittedly, I've seen a surprising few episodes of TOS.
It was never shown to separate in the original series !This might be a stupid question, but the TOS Enterprise can separate it's saucer?

CorrectIt was never shown to separate in the original series !
So I have always loved die cast models (my fav being the lotus from Spy Who Loved Me) so when this crowdfund came up, I ordered three of these bad boys. I understand that some people can’t stand a seam or two but I can’t tell and these will never be made again. If need be, I’ll 3d print a smaller saucer stand but really, the current stand seems fine (and someone posted that it might not be needed). I never considered cancelling my orders and I feel kinda bad for those that did. I mean why cancel it? If you get it and don’t like it, sell it on EBay lol.
Nobodies asking you too. I warp returned there was no impulse about it. TBH folks settled vs. what was promised. However, MANY warts and all it fills a void if you don't have anything better in this scale. I did/do so it was a pretty easy decision.Well I don't feel bad for those that returned it. They impulsed returned. Wanted their cash back. A few people were like "I can use the money for other collectables"...lol...one guy said he needed the money....lol. So don't feel bad for them.
The only one I had was this so that's why I went with Tomy's version !Nobodies asking you too. I warp returned there was no impulse about it. TBH folks settled vs. what was promised. CD is 100% correct with this responseKIRK: Then use your imagination. Tie every ounce of power the ship has into the impulse engines. Discard the warp drive nacelles if you have to, and crack out of there with the main section, but get that ship out of there!
This is the only within broadcast TOS mention of any such ability to "discard" a part of the ship.
So that is canonical and purist, but open to argument exactly what that meant.
The saucer clearly has features that can easily be seen as landing gear that fold down.
Outside of the show..
I think the vintage book Making of Star Trek had writers guides or something that spoke of it.
If I was in the same boat I would have had as well. 100%. I had options others did not so it was a pass for me.The only one I had was this so that's why I went with Tomy's version !
I wish Tomy would make an official statement about the long term effects of displaying the enterprise on a single stand. Currently the evidence is still second, third, fourth or more hand including suggestions like ‘it can only be displayed without the saucer support for short periods’. How contradictory it all is. I figured. I just didn't know if it was mentioned in a throwaway line.It was never shown to separate in the original series !
If the engineers that helped design it can't be trusted then who above them at TOMY would be ! I doubt Joe CEO at the top wouldn't know anything about structural engineering !I wish Tomy would make an official statement about the long term effects of displaying the enterprise on a single stand.
